In lm and media, varsity players are often
portrayed as golden boy and girls who are loved by
everyone, who win games, and party all night.
Sometimes, they’re bullies who get away with
everything. However, did you ever notice that it’s
very rare to see varsity players in Hollywood
features that actually study, eat right, and sleep
early?Yup.

If varsity athletes are going to blame someone for
the way society sees them as having an easy life,
they should blame Hollywood. Far more than sports

news, Hollywood has sensationalized varsity players
to the point that people actually believe they’re one-
dimensional.
The truth of the matter is that varsity players lead a
very hectic life. Between their academic
responsibilities and sports training, they have very
little time for anything else.
Some people may think (again because of
Hollywood) that varsity athletes get free passes
from teachers. But that isn’t the case. If anything,
they have to work harder to get the grades they
need to be eligible to play. Their free time is then
spent on conditioning their bodies in the gym or on
the eld.

Sure they may party a few nights in a semester, but
seldom during training season, and de nitely not
before big games, when they need to get as much
rest and relaxation as possible.
