Why is it important to
track a typhoon?
Tracing the pathway of a typhoon is essential in
determining which location will be greatly
affected by it.
Super typhoon Yolanda is considered
as one of the most powerful
typhoons ever recorded in the history
of the Philippines. It hit the country
on November 8, 2013.
Typhoon tracking and forecasting involve the prediction of the path
of a typhoon every 6 to 12 hours over a period of at least five days.
PAGASA uses a variety of meteorological tools and methods to
deliver accurate forecasts.
