3. What is Reurbanisation? Reurbanisation is the increasing number of people moving back into inner urban areas having previously lived in suburbs or outside the urban area. It also defined as the return of high status and high income group back to inner and central areas in MEDCs Therefore this is the movement of people from rural areas back into the city.

4. What are causes of Reurbanisation? The causes of reurbanisation are : The population pressure and lack resources in rural areas so more people move to urban areas for a better living. The urban areas expanding faster so people are moving from the rural area to urban areas because there are more places to work Also there are better health care in urban areas so it means more people are moving back to urban areas to get a healthy lifestyles.

10. It was the most successful docks and grew rapidly and accessible to other countries. It has reached peak in 1950s. However, in 1968, the trade began decline so the docks soon neglected and the warehouse became infested with rats and water become polluted. The community depended on the docks had lost their job so they started to leave the docks to find new jobs on the other cities.

11. Trafford park industrial estate was built BUT due to the decline of the Salford docks, many places and businesses were closing down and moving away. After this, the urban renewal were taking place on Salford docks. They carried out massive investments in industry and offices, transport, housings, shops and culture leisure facilities.

12. The Salford new Quay Before development began in 1985. Some of the important steps were taken : 1981 – 162 hectares of land which was near the Manchester ship canal were designated an enterprise zone as it was the need of development. The enterprise zone was given advice, grants and incentives to encourage urban renewal - Salford city council brought 91 hectares of the docks from Manchester ship canal company

13. (2) 1983 – SCC and Urban Waterside Ltd produced a mixed land scheme for 9 hectares. (3) 1984 – More development plans were drawn up and Salford Docks was re-named to Salford Quays.

The department of environment approved the scheme (5) Salford Quays become important for investment for housing and offices. On July 1989, there was 53.34 square metres of the offices and 300 new housings. There also new shops and restaurants
