Trends of 2016 that can drive social media success:
• Live streaming: This year, live streaming will be the one social
media strategy that will drive success.
Facebook has also announced its Live Streaming option and
Reports say that Snapchat, which lets you talk with friends and
watch live narrations, has over 100 million users daily on its
app.
• Customized content matters: As a social media marketer,
ensure that your content is customized to meet the needs of
each consumer. Micro-targeting and harvesting small bits of
data matter much more than anything else, so make it part of
your digital marketing strategy.

• Don’t forget multiple screens: Most consumers today are
exposed to multiple screens and at least a third of consumers
use not just mobile but also their tablets and laptops to
browse.
This is a gold mine for marketers as they can use profiles of

• Mobile is the way to go: A Cisco study has shown that India
will see an increase in the number of smartphones, taking the
figure up to 650 million plus in the coming four years.

• Emojis can’t be ignored: Emojis are how an increasing number
of young people communicate on social media platforms.
A successful example of a social media campaign involving
emojis was done by Dominos last year.
• User-generated content and influencers: An important part of

generated content and find influencers who can advocate your
brand/company.
