10. SEO VS RADIO
SEO: Basing a business on SEO techniques is risky because search engines providers can change
their algorithms, or set of rules, that determine how they index the web at any time. Search engines
want to distance themselves from spammers and sites that superficially game the SEO system with
weak content dominated by overuse of keywords. Investing too much focus on SEO can ultimately
be a waste of time if not enough emphasis is placed on offering quality content. Since SEO does not
have a long established history like radio, its effects over time are difficult to analyze.
RADIO: Despite competition from new media, radio still reaches more than 235 million listeners per
week in 2012. A high percentage of teens listen regularly to radio, but most listeners are adults and
most listening is done in cars while driving to work. Over half of radio revenue comes from local
businesses. Consistent radio advertising that reaches a target audience combined with other media
campaigns can effectively grow a market. More than 90 percent of the radio audience listens to
commercials, according radio industry research leader Arbitron. Radio's big advertisers include fast
food chains, communications dealers, car dealers, restaurants, retail, financial institutions and
insurance companies. http://smallbusiness.chron.com/seo-vs-radio-advertising-42798.html

increasing, with about a 15 percent share among

21. Hubby, Daddy, and all around nice(ish) guy. A lover of
music and concerts, but it is no joke that country music
runs through this guy's veins! He's currently working on a
family goal to visit all of Michigan's State Parks before his
kids fly the coop! Brad bats right handed, throws like a
girl, and is always willing to take one for the team.
SW Michigan’s Country Girl!! She went from the
Queen of Coloma…to the Princess of the Air. When
Lindsay Kay isn’t kickin’ out the country jams, she’s
busy with her workout regimen: curling another
Margarita or racing to the cash register with another
blinged out buy. Got a question about the country
genre….. she can answer it. Up for a party….so is she!
From a small town farm community, Country boy Matt Malone is a
fan of huntin’, fishin’, four-wheelin’, campin’, beer drinkin’ and
laughin’! He loves being out in the community; meeting people,
seeing live music and volunteering. Matt has volunteered as a coach
for youth football, softball and baseball teams, the Alzheimer’s
Association, Toys For Tots and more. He feels like every person
should know how to change their oil, a tire and how to drive a manual
transmission. Also, camouflage makes everything better. Matt has
been doing radio for over 10 years and continues to love going to work
every single day.

23. OUR ADVERTISING WORKS
RADIO IS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN MOST OTHER TRADITIONAL MEDIA,
ALLOWING ADVERTISERS TO EFFECTIVELY MAXIMIZE TARGETED REACH
WITH RESULTS DRIVEN FREQUENCY!
"I knew I wanted to do something different than print
advertising. I listen to the radio, a lot of people listen to the
radio, and the experience has been my clients coming back to
me and saying, 'Hey, I heard you on the radio the other day!'
It's been a very positive feedback from my existing clients, as
well as friends and family members."
"I am very glad that we've
done the branding and the
jingle. Both of those things
have really worked well for
us. We keep getting
compliments, we keep
getting new patients from
it, so I think it's been great."
"We have found, with Mid-West
Family Broadcasting, that we not
only get return on investment, but
we recognize the power of the radio
microphone. It's been a great
experience. The staff is always with
us, they're always there to remind us
of our deadlines. They've been very
helpful in our messaging, and to tell
us if we're going down a wrong
road, to give us advice, and that's
key to a great partnership."
