Dr. Burger's lab frequently creates, evaluates, and employs new methodologies that combine the fields of nutrition, public health, neuroscience, psychology, and physiology to better understand and improve habitual eating behavior. The primary area of his research is studying how the interaction among eating behavior, neural response to food stimuli and psychosocial factors relate to habitual eating behavior and weight regulation. This is accomplished by using a variety of assessments ranging from fMRI, to lab-based feeding and sensory measures, as well as objective and subjective evaluations of behavior.
