Process Automation - Evaluate benefit targets and prioritize
investments. Track and drive the
impact.
Process mining - Connect findings to size, cost and
efficiency of a process. Define
targets and drive the impact
The objective of process automation isn’t to automate. Companies that don’t define,
measure and track their objective are driving in the dark.

3. Drive an impact.
Process Automation and
Process Mining
01
Informed targeting
The goal of process automation isn’t to install automation. The goal
is to drive improvements in cost and focus. CI’s data and analytics is
the difference between driving with google maps vs a compass.
02
Engage leaders to drive changes
Automation doesn’t lower the cost of a process or shift the focus of
the organization. It happens by leaders making changes based on
automation improvements. CI’s 12 dimensions means you can engage
leaders with data and analytics specific to their focus.
03
Connected Analytics
Progress with automation and process improvements are connected
to progress with your objectives. This is how “leaders lead”
...using
data to drive an impact.
04
Track your impact
High performing programs have visibility to their impact and progress
towards performance targets. CI’s platform is designed for you to
operate and refresh your data. Using PowerBI, you can also design
your own fit-for-purpose dashboards.
4. "The visibility from CI is essential to ensure we don't
move from a high cost manual process to a high cost
automated process."
Finance Transformation Program Leader,
Global Chemical Company
5. Evaluating and prioritizing process automation opportunities is a function of impact
(where’s the highest benefit?) and speed (where is the fastest ROI?). CI’s Target
dashboard is designed to bring together key data points using dimensions that also
allow you to internally benchmark across your business.
Prioritizing: On the left panel are two views visualizing where to prioritize. Evaluate
where efficiency and centralization will have the biggest impact or in combination.
Benchmarking: On the right, three panels of key decision analytics broken down into
the level of organization detail that makes sense for your internal benchmarking. You
can toggle between FTE and cost views, and between different efficiency KPI’s.
In addition, CI has “Impact” dashboards for tracking progress and the impact on key
metrics.

6. Are you trying to set targets and drive improvements in focus, cost and agility across
functions such as finance, procurement, IT, HR?
The Function Heatmap covers the key analytics used to measure your objectives:
You can configure the heatmap to cover the dimensions important to you, whether
it’s comparing your business units, divisions, regions, countries or entities or all the
above.
Efficiency metrics such as ”FTE per Billion Revenue”
Focus metrics such as % of an organization focused on business value
Agility metrics such as % of a process that’s covered by your shared
services or BPO organization
Function Heatmap
7. Drill down to process-specific analytics covering your efficiency and quality
objectives and the key drivers.
The process-specific heatmap is configured to connect the analytics measuring your
objectives to analytics measuring the key drivers for that process. Across the
columns you begin with the objectives, such as “Cost per Vendor Invoice” and “%
Paid On Time” and see the connection to driver metrics such as “% PO”, “%
Touchless” or Cycle Time.
Using the CI platform you can incorporate KPI measures calculated in other systems
such as automation platforms and ERP, in addition to KPI calculations using CI source
data. You have complete end-to-end coverage and visibility to analytics that drive
your target objectives.

8. High performing process automation programs focus on objectives
and define key drivers.
The Connected Analytics dashboard connects the KPI’s defined for
your Objectives to KPI’s defined for two levels of Drivers.
Using this dashboard you can drive progress on your Objectives using
visibility to progress with your Drivers.
