2. National Careers Service CV Builder
• The National Careers Service website provides help with
finding a job, a skills check, finding a course and
planning a career. One of its most useful features is the
CV builder, which guides you through the process of
creating your own CV from scratch.
• As well as making it easy to compile a CV via a step-by-
step process, it also offers a choice of designs at the end
so that the CV looks attractive on the page too.
• On the internet, go to http://bit.ly/cvbuilder
3. National Careers Service CV Builder
• If you think you have enough time to complete your CV
in one session then there is no need to register.
Otherwise it's a good idea to register so that you can
save your CV as a work in progress and come back to it
at a later date from any computer that has internet
access.
• Once you have completed your CV you will be able to
save and edit it in Microsoft Word.
4. CV support
• For expert advice on all aspects of jobseeking (including how to
write CVs and what content to include, developing interview skills,
and possible avenues for childcare) there are two useful
organisations to contact; Jobcentre Plus and National Careers
Service.
• Jobcentre Plus www.direct.gov.uk 0845 604 3719
