INTRODUCTION TO LEARNING AND EDUCATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY (INTRO)
418019P, 5 ECTS, AUTUMN 2015
In this course the students familiarize themselves with the
theoretical background, core concepts, and contemporary tools
of educational technology.
The course introduces the students to the field of learning
sciences and examines the role of learning and educational
technology in a globalized world.
One central goal of this course is to learn to use and evaluate
technologies in a pedagogically meaningful way.
In this course students start to reflect on their own learning and
expertise in a digital portfolio.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of this course, the student knows how to
describe the basic concepts of learning sciences and educational
technology
name some of the major research topics in the field of learning
sciences and technology enhanced learning
identify and discuss contemporary issues in educational technology
in global and local educational contexts.
use contemporary educational software and hardware, and also
evaluate their pedagogical usability
create a digital portfolio in the form of a personal journal in a weblog

WHY?
• Your own personal space to write and publish things that you have done and learned during the
educational technology studies / LET master’s studies
• Will be used throughout your whole studies, in different ways in different courses
• Can be also used as you wish for your other studies or personal interests
• To learn by writing, to reflect and evaluate your own learning and expertise
• To collect all the great products you have done during your studies
• To show your learning outcomes to the teacher
• To show your experiences and expertise to your future employer
• To enable networking and communication with other people interested in the same topics
• To see later on, how much you’ve actually learned and achieved
• To show your learning, thoughts, products and expertise to your fellow students, friends, family or
anyone…

post where you describe briefly your current understanding about
learning and educational technology

You don’t need to find any new information to do this assignment!
Just write down your own thoughts at the moment :)
This assignment should be done by the end of this week (before the
next Monday meeting) and titled ”PORTFOLIO ASSIGNMENT 1” in your
