In this study, a cyclical model of self-regulated learning is viewed from the cognitive perspective, and focuses on the students tactic use. Yet, its important to realize, that not all the tactic use is is stratetig. This is because, its possible to use different study tactics reactively. In this case, study tactic use does not require a spesific goal setting or active monitoring, rather they involve only one step at a time, which refers to regulating and changing cognition when a need arises by applying a study tactic. In contrast, a learning strategy is defined as a planned set of coordinated study tactics that are directed by a learning goal and aim to approach a new skill or gain understanding. This is to say, when students are behaving strategic, they invest effort in using the strategy.
