Key Activity 1 “Learning EU at School”
Bringing Europe to School Teachers (Β.Ε.S.T)

The aims of the project
 to “Bring Europe to School Teachers” by
training and educating teachers of primary
schools on EU issues using ICTs (web 2.0,
social media, EDUglogster, wikis, blogs,
animoto, storybird etc)
to familiarize teachers with the existing EU
teaching material and encourage them to
contribute to the wider spread of it
to develop new teaching
material such as an e-book and
an e-game
to “Bring Europe to Schools”
through teachers who will act as
knowledge multipliers towards
primary school 12 years old
children and their families.
The specific objectives of the
project, are:
a) to stimulate teaching and reflection activities of the
primary school level teachers and children in the field of
European integration studies;
b) to create a human network of teachers in promoting EU
material in their schools;
c) to enhance knowledge and awareness among teachers
in primary education and among European citizens;
d) to develop new didactic and pedagogical material and
tools for the ages of 9-12 years old;
e) to motivate teachers to develop innovative,
inderdisciplinary and pedagogical methods for teaching
EU issues at schools;
e) to promote teachers’ and in consequence childrens’
creativity for organising EU activities.

 ICT and foreign language skills
 Interest on EU issues
 Geographical dispersion
 Teachers, languages’ teachers, musicians,
trainers, post-graduate and doctoral
students
Two training seminars
12-13 January 2013
 EU structure and functioning
 European Educational and ICT Policies
 Diversity, fundamental rights and children's rights
 Teaching Europe through Art
 Greek participation in EU
 Familiarization with web 2.0 and social media
applications (e.g EDUglogster, wikis, blogs, animoto,
storybird etc)
 EU teaching material (teachers’ and kid’s corner)
 EU games and European institutions’ simulation
exercises
16-17 March 2013

  • 6. The aims of the project  to “Bring Europe to School Teachers” by training and educating teachers of primary schools on EU issues using ICTs (web 2.0, social media, EDUglogster, wikis, blogs, animoto, storybird etc)
  • 7. to familiarize teachers with the existing EU teaching material and encourage them to contribute to the wider spread of it

  • 10. to develop new teaching material such as an e-book and an e-game
  • 11. to “Bring Europe to Schools” through teachers who will act as knowledge multipliers towards primary school 12 years old children and their families.
  • 12. The specific objectives of the project, are: a) to stimulate teaching and reflection activities of the primary school level teachers and children in the field of European integration studies; b) to create a human network of teachers in promoting EU material in their schools; c) to enhance knowledge and awareness among teachers in primary education and among European citizens; d) to develop new didactic and pedagogical material and tools for the ages of 9-12 years old; e) to motivate teachers to develop innovative, inderdisciplinary and pedagogical methods for teaching EU issues at schools; e) to promote teachers’ and in consequence childrens’ creativity for organising EU activities.

Two training seminars 12-13 January 2013  EU structure and functioning  European Educational and ICT Policies  Diversity, fundamental rights and children's rights  Teaching Europe through Art  Greek participation in EU  Familiarization with web 2.0 and social media applications (e.g EDUglogster, wikis, blogs, animoto, storybird etc)  EU teaching material (teachers’ and kid’s corner)  EU games and European institutions’ simulation exercises
  • 15. 16-17 March 2013  Cyclades Museum: Teaching EU through museum education  Talking with MEPs: “The Future of Europe”  Erasmus in Schools, e-twinning, Asynchronous learning platforms  EU activities’ presentations by teachers  Consultation and proposals for the improvement of the e-book and the e- game
