Lok Kalyan Samiti is an NGO in Delhi for child education. LKS was founded by late Shri Kalyan Singh Gupta and late Smt. Sucheta Kripalani to respond to the influx of starving refugees into Delhi after India’s partition. Selfless and untiring work of LKS attracted the attention of national leaders like Pandit Nehru, Dr. Radhakrishnan, Smt. Indira Gandhi, Dr. Zakir Hussain, H.H.The Dalai Lama and late Shri I.K. Gujral among others. LKS has been delivering various public welfare services specially Cataract elimination from among the underprivileged sections of society.
Blindness due to cataract is an enormous problem is India in terms of human suffering, considerable economic loss.
