Hollywood accounting refers to the practice of film studios reporting large film projects as unprofitable through fraudulent accounting methods. This is done to avoid paying compensation to workers and talent by reporting little to no net profits. It exploits those behind and in front of the camera by underpaying them and retaining profits for studios and top stars.
2. Hollywood Accounting is the process in which
when a film is released by a studio(s), large profits
are made from the films box office, but the
financial statement on the film says that the film
was actually less profitable than it was. This
method is performed to hoard the profits for film
studios and the bigger stars in the film itself and to
underpay film staff. Is this fair.
