  1. I will be speaking to her success as a leader of her company, employees, and all those looking to succeed in their careers. Though her own success in the business world, she transformed herself into a model and icon of feminism and against subjection.
  2. Focus on her successes. She has established herself, thanks to her work at Facebook, as a leader of women and those who have trouble speaking up for themselves.
  3. The status quo is not good enough and hasn’t changed enough. We are not honest enough about the problem. Embracing the word feminist and getting rid of the word bossy (new campaign promoting the extinction of the word). What’s missing here is her focus on her own organization. She does tell many a story about facebook, how she was hired, her employees, and her high-level business meetings. However, she has made a name for herself in the spheres of empowerment and promoting the role of women in the work place.
  4. These four points define her public personal. She in turn has transformed each into a key component of all of her leadership strategies and communications. She was prominent in the business world before facebook, but this role certainly propelled her into the limelight.
  5. Challenges conventional wisdom to help people continuously adapt, and evolve. Sandberg said she was “real optimistic” about dialogue and debate generated by concept of “leaning in”, which exhorts professional women to pour more energy into their careers. “Businesses are going to care about diversity not because they want to do good in the world. They’re going to care about diversity if it’s going to change their bottom line. Promotes learning from other women in similar positions, successful women, and business men who have come to realize that Sheryl makes a good point.
  6. How do leaders clearly identify ‘true north,’ keep a steady course and cross organizational boundaries to keep everyone moving and working together?
  7. How do leaders help employees align their personal goals with those of the organization? Deepen feelings of community membership and affiliation through the use of narrative, link people to a common culture and common values Barnard speech “How Sheryl Sandberg's Last Minute Addition To Her TED Talk Sparked A Movement” “I wrote a first chapter, I thought it was fabulous. It was chock-full of data and figures… My husband read it and he was like, this is like eating your Wheaties. No one will read this book. And I realized through the process that I had to be more honest and more open, and I had to tell my stories.”
