2. CLOTHING
Clothing is a really big part in making the images right and to
attract the target audience. For example, if the model has quite
urban attire on, then people may assume that my product is
promoting hip hop and urban culture. Therefore, for a fashion and
lifestyle magazine, I need to decide what clothing would be
suitable. From researching other magazine covers, I think it
would be best to go for a more casual/ relaxed look, however still
glamourous and pretty with trendy accessories. I think smart
trousers or jeans and a more formal top would suit my genre of
magazine well, promoting that the more casual look can also be
nice. Since my magazine is regional, I need to also look into
current trends in my area. I will do this by looking in local high-
street shops such as Topshop and River Island.

4. MAKEUP
Makeup is a very important aspect of a photo-shoot and different models
suit different tastes. Therefore I need to decide what look I want to go
for, for my own model. Some magazines go for really extravagant looks,
which are bold and eye catching, however most lifestyle and fashion
magazines go for the more natural golden goddess styles. Therefore, I am
inspired to go with a makeup look that only accentuates the models
beauty, rather than adding unnecessary colour, although I may add slight
colour to the lips to add a girly feel. I feel like this will be easy to create
and inspire my regional audience.
5. HAIR STYLE
Hairstyle is also another aspect of a photo-shoot, and needs to be perfect
on the day. From my research, it really depends on the model and what
type of hair they have, and how the stylists have worked with it,
therefore I will chose my model and then work with what hair she has.
Something I have noticed with fashion and lifestyle magazines is that the
hair is always natural and makes the model look elegant. I will try and
incorporate this into my regional magazine, and use a hairstyle that is
easy for my audience to recreate themselves if they are inspired by my
model.
6. PROPS
Props are also used, however not so much in female fashion
photo-shoots. Photographers tend to focus on their beauty rather
than add other distracting things onto the image. Therefore I have
decided against using props in my images, some examples may be
more jewelry, chairs, crowns, sweets etc.
