2. Brainstorm My first instinct was to just read my original story from Unit One aloud for Audacity. The first draft, I read the story aloud, but it didn’t seem to get any of my main points across
3. Redo! After class on Monday I had a lot of ideas of what I wanted to do with my production. I knew I wanted it to be a personal PSA I knew I wanted it to sound like a commercial I thought that if I did a PSA/Commercial format that I would be able to reach my audience more easily. I knew that they would have clearer idea of what action to take.
4. The new story After deciding what I wanted to do with my story, I wrote a script I incorporated my personal story of my brother with the rest of my production - Opening - My story of family connection - Closing, and recommended action
5. The Final Product My production ended up being about a minute and half. That’s 30 seconds shorter than I would have liked it to be. I think it works despite the shortness of it because its short, sweet, and to the point. I believe that this production could definitely motivate someone to become closer to their families.
6. Tips! Think, Think, Think Experiment! Try different formats for your story. It could be a PSA It could be a commercial It could be just you, reading your story aloud, if that’s what works
7. Tips (continued) DON’T wait until the last minute to get your act together DO start early, make a list of ideas DON’T do your story when you’re tired, you’re voice will sound froggy! (RIBBIT!) DO create your production when you’re well rested, and happy. If you’re tired and sad, you will sound tired and sad.
