7. Working at a computer
Injuries such as eye strain, RSI, back and neck pain
can occur
Take regular breaks away from the computer to
stretch and re-focus
8. What to do in case of an emergency
Listen for the emergency signals and/or broadcast
Follow instructionsgiven by the OH&S representative
The emergency exits are clearly marked above the
doors and stairwells
Do not use the elevators
Move in a safe and organised manner to the
emergency evacuation point in the carpark

9. Who is the OH&S Representative?
A list of the current OH&S representatives is updated
regularly in the OH&S manual
This list is also posted on the walls near the
emergency exits, and in the tea room
In case of an emergency, the OH&S representative
will be wearing a yellow hard hat for easy
identification.
11. Risk assessment and reporting
Identify hazards
Hazards need to be found before they cause a
problem. How?
• Workplace inspections
• Injury and illness records
• Observations
Once a hazard is found, it should be reported to the
OH&S representative

Assess risks
Once we are aware of the hazard, it needs to be
assess to see how much of a risk it is.
This will determine how soon the hazard needs to be
dealt with and how much of a threat it is.

Now the hazard has been identified, and the risk
assessed, think about how to best fix or eliminate it.
