15. Internship and Thesis
• Planning: benefit from the calm months (January, summer)
• Internal / external
• Topic related to ACP
• Start preparations on time, especially for external position
• Optional: combine internship + thesis to save overhead time
• Arrange a CP teacher as supervisor + ask permission to start
• External position requires two supervisors: UL-teacher and local expert
16. Specifics of Internship
10 ECT = 7 weeks full time equivalent
Emphasis on practical experience; learning new techniques
An internship contract agreed upon by you, the supervisors
and the host institute
End product: A report about your internship focused on the
process, your contributions in research etc.
17. Specifics of Thesis
20 ECT = 14 weeks
Autonomic completion of a study (under supervision)
Rather than a contract: a proposal of the study should be
approved before the study starts
End product: a full report in scientific journal format
