The Cultural Innovation Award recognizes a leader who has made a positive impact on the

Peters, CIO and associate vice president at Yale University, understood that
reinventing the delivery of IT services wouldn't be easy. Peters turned to the Information
Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), a globally recognized collection of best practices
for information technology (IT) service management, and mandated that all Information
Technology Service (ITS)-Yale University employees take basic ITIL training. And the new
culture of accountability didn't stop there: Peters' staff developed a tool for reporting
performance that's so unique that they're filing a patent for it.
