ife Fabrications Limited (FiFab) has been
in business for more than 40 years,
constantly evolving to meet the needs of
our customers and the market place. Roberto
Morris, business improvement manager at
FiFab’s explained “Our policy is one of
continuous investment in new equipment,
this enables us to minimize costs whilst
improving productivity and effectiveness. Our
recent investment in a new Gema Powder
Coating system has helped us stay ahead of
the curve, and has significantly re-defined our
coating operations, and supports our drive to
deliver best in class quality, and flexibility”
Leon Hogg, business manager - UK (Gema
Europe) worked closely with Roberto at the
team at Fifab to specify the system, Leon
explained “During the project evaluation
stage it became clear that FiFab are working
to high standards and support many leading
OEM’s with premium fabricated components.
To support FiFab’s medium and longer term
growth plans Roberto and I worked closely
together to identify and evaluate the critical
key performance areas, with the general
focus being enhancing customer quality and
value” the general points are overviewed
below:
Roberto Morris continued, “The headline
aspects identified during the project phase
included process automation, coating control
and repeatability, flexibility in the process,
delivering premium quality as well as having
a focus on keeping tight cost controls. In
addition there was significant weight given to
the environmental and sustainability of the
process over the product life-cycle.”
The Gema Magic booth system, similar to
the one shown below boasts the very latest in
automatic powder application technology and
is designed to deliver the very best in class
coating results. The system incorporates the
latest design EquiFlow system, this quicker,
cleaner and smarter booth technology is
designed to recover, recycle and re-use
overspray powder and maximise the paint
coverage whilst minimising waste and
reducing colour change times.
