The aim of this unit is to provide learners with knowledge and
understanding of children’s emergent mathematical skills.

Share your thoughts and ideas on how you
have embedded maths into your everyday care
and support of the children in your setting.
7. Produce an A4 Factsheet demonstrating how
mathematics can be part of a child’s everyday life.
Individually produce an A4 Factsheet which is aimed at parents of children
under the age of 5 years that will contain useful information on how to help
and support emergent maths in their child/children.
Explain how maths is evident in children’s everyday lives and give specific
examples.
