  1. We didn’t want to follow the codes and conventions to a ‘t’, we wanted to experiment with them. Intertextual reference = Maria on the hill top twirling in the wind whilst singing ‘The Hills Are Alive With the Sound of Music’. This was shown when you see the worms eye view of the artist swirling. We wanted to use an upbeat song from the start so that we could be very artistic with the video. Was important to use a song that already had an artist that was a little over the top and extravagant. Props = Confetti cannon (not used) Tea cups, Flowers and pearls, Vintage hat, Colorful clothing, Unique settings. Show the uniqueness of the artist. Juxtapositioning = When music was slow then the outfits became neutral and light and the actions of the artist became slow and gentle to go with the flow of the music When music was fast then the outfits became more extravagant and her actions become fast and crazy to go with the flow of the music.
  2. We thought about the character and her personality before starting the music video. Two personalities = 1 Quiet and sweet 2 Loud and vibrant This once again was to go with the flow of the music and the juxtapositioning that I have already mentioned. By making our artist very unique and different it allowed us to get across our own artistic skills and to go a little crazy with some things that we wanted to do.
  3. These are a few examples of the different kind of Music and Lyrics conventions and also Visual and Lyrics conventions. You can see images of her singing to the song and also of her acting to the sound of the music. For example the picture with her mask on she is acting elegantly to the slow music. And you can see the images with ‘Ssh’, ‘Bam’, ‘Yell’ and also the ones where she is acting out the ‘Ssh’ motion that these are of her singing to the music.
  4. I have put everything on the poster that will help to promote it. I have used an image that has colour in but that is not too harsh on the eyes. The text I have used works really well and shows a certain sophistication to the poster.
  5. I wanted it to look vibrant and something that you can listen to and have some fun. By using the drawings I wanted to give the effect that the artist is a very home made artist.
  6. Mika was a good inspiration for my digipack design. Cartoon like. Colourful. Incorporates the idea of the artist and the music.
  7. This is the feedback that we got from Facebook. Casting was a good choice, Mise-en-scene fits well with the song, particularly the costume, Animations go in time with the song, Good choice of location, Cuts get faster during the upbeat part of the song. Molly looks very natural in context with the song, Lighting was good.
  8. - We didn't’ t get much feedback from YouTube.
  9. Facebook and YouTube to post our video and get feedback. Glogster to design our audience profile. ITunes to download our chosen song. Blogger to post the work we were doing as we were doing it. Phone to play the music from when we were filming so that she could get the lip sinking right. Camera to take photos when we were on set and for our digipack and poster.
  10. - We used final cut pro to edit our music video.
  11. - I used this to create my digipack and poster.
