WHAT WE DO
Bixel Exchange is a small, business development center hosted
at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, specializing in
serving the technology community in Los Angeles.
In addition to the civic, policy and business community
programming managed by our Innovation & Emerging Technologies
Department at the Chamber, the Bixel Exchange Small Business
Development Center (SBDC) seeks to further help technology
companies thrive in L.A. To do this, our center has built a quality,
scalable product that delivers high value to clients, advisors and
partners, meets our center metrics and milestones and establishes
a system of market feedback so we can further define our customer
base and refine our products to meet their needs.
Bixel Exchange serves entrepreneurs through a specialized,
start-up, development program and through collaboration with
accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces, venture capitalists,
angel investors and private equity firms, universities, research
institutions, innovation labs and government.
Through these partnerships with corporate and civic organizations
throughout Los Angeles, the Bixel Exchange connects technology
businesses with mentors and business advisors to get them the
“I-wish-I’d-known” insights they need to grow. These services are
offered at no charge to clients through a cooperative agreement
with the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Los Angeles
Regional SBDC Network.
Bixel Exchange leverages the power of the Chamber and the
Los Angeles Regional SBDC Network, providing services for
companies in the LA, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. The
Bixel Exchange SBDC provides detailed, analytical feedback
to entrepreneurs in order to support the development of their
companies. The feedback is combined with specific subject
matter resources offered by our advisors so that client companies
can be successful in securing funding, increasing revenues or
simply getting their businesses and products off the ground.

ecommerce, adtech, clean tech, digital media, gaming, mobile and
social media, among others.

In addition to our advising programming, companies can attend
workshops with topics that were discussed in advising, technology
salons that provide larger networking platforms with established

Happy Friday! We’d like to congratulate our client, Ben Sax on receiving $35,000 in funding from Knight
Prototype Fund, for his company, Perceptoscope. The goal of Perceptoscope is to help civic
institutions, like museums and historical sites, present local information through augmented-reality
enabled, coin-operated binoculars that provide immersive experiences in public spaces using interactive
art, historical recreations and real-time data visualizations. Congratulations Ben and advisor, Craig
Wilson, on this huge achievement!
This week, we are honored to welcome Chamber Board Member and Co-Chair for Innovation &
Technology, Eugene Chi, as our newest advisor to the team. Eugene is currently SMB General Manager
- West Region for Microsoft. In his 12 years with Microsoft, Eugene has held a number of diverse, sales
leadership roles as the Sales Excellence Director in SoCal District and Southwest District, a $600 million
a year Enterprise business, focused on sales management, sales operations and licensing. In addition,
he has managed sales teams in numerous markets and held other roles at Microsoft. His specialties

Wearable Technology Salon. This event will highlight today’s attempts at blending fashion, function
