4. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
Using this method allows you to effectively decide on your final product as you can identify certain
points and merge them together into the planning of your final product.
• Weaknesses of using this method
Time consuming, difficult to convey big ideas
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I like this method because although I may not use the majority of the ideas, I still have a large variety of
other options to fall back on in case I change my mind
6. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
I can now more accurately depict the mood and setting for my advert with a
variety of pictures that set the mood and environment
• Weaknesses of using this method
Its too easy to place so many different ideas on one page
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because unlike my mind map I now have a visual
representation of my ideas
8. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
Using a style sheet allowed me to visualize different fonts styles to
confidently choose the most suitable font to be displayed on my
finishing product
• Weaknesses of using this method
It might limit your ideas so you don’t experiment and find out other
potential fonts.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because I got to use a different font library to
what I would normally use for a product like this. I had previously used
cooltext.com but to create my style sheet I used fonts off dafont.com.
10. Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
The layout plan allows me to get an overall idea of the layout
of my poster and let me focus on making it look as
professional as it can possibly be.
• Weaknesses of using this method
Your idea might change and also within production it might
look better laid out differently.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method as it is as close to making the
final poster as it can be. Using power point and its
formatting tools made it easier for me to quickly produce.
12. Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
The brainstorm gave us the opportunity to write multiple
scripts down and play with the words until we got a dialogue
that was the most suitable.
• Weaknesses of using this method
Lots of ideas written down and scrapped made the
presentation scruffy.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because it allowed us to write down
all of the ideas for our audio advert such as sound effects and
slogan.
13. Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
• Receiving feedback to make a more confident
final decision
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because once we got
our feedback we started straight away and each
one of us were given our own specific tasks.
14. Formal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
• Thinking about all the things we need to
consider if we were to focus our advert to a
specific target market.
Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked this method because it allowed us to take
into consideration all of the different aspects we
need to include to focus the advert on the
biggest target market as possible.
15. Initial Reaction
My first thoughts on creating an advagame were that I’m uneasy
about the programmes we will be using as I’ve never used
sophisticated coding on creating a video game before. I’m more
confident about the sketches I will have to produce as I have my
general idea for my final product.
16. Initial Reaction
• Strengths of using this method
• Thinking about how I feel about the final advagame.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I liked using this method because I thought about what
I don’t feel that confident about but also let me think
about the general idea and character for the game.
18. Sketches
• Strengths of using this method
Being able to design different ideas that you can mess
around with and change if needed.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I liked using this method because I got to design
different ideas and decide which ones I am going
to change or scrap. It also allowed me to pay
attention to detail and deter whether the idea
will work with the programme I will use with my
digital design.
19. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
• Thinking about all the things we need to
consider if we were to focus our advert to a
specific target market.
Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked this method because it allowed us to take
into consideration all of the different aspects we
need to include to focus the advert on the
biggest target market as possible
