Question 7 powerpoint
1. What I have learnt from the progression of the preliminary task
to the full product.
Researching into other
media products similar to
the one I was trying to
create helped me out a lot
making me able to develop
and complete the main
task successful because I
knew how it was meant to
look and who I was aiming
EXPERIENCES
my magazine at, It also
allowed me to create my
own ideas with inspiration
from researching into
magazines such as ‘clash’.

PLANNING AND PREPARATION
3. TIMING
I needed to organise my time more efficiently, as I lost track
and need to keep up as I changed my ideas a few times it
made me fall behind, so in the future I would set out a more
detailed plan which is more realistic as my magazine suffered
from the time lost, also because my magazine is so different
with its landscape orientation I needed to make more time to
figure out how to print and put it up on my blog.

4. My photographs turned out reasonably well, using the
camera I decided to use made the pictures turn out to a high
quality. I used many different shot types varying from
medium close up to a long shot, also I changed angles by
sitting down and taking the photos and turning the model to
face the other way.

5. CONVENTIONS
I used many conventions for my magazines front cover
with the use of a masthead and a puff, coverlines and a
front cover star. Also on my contents page I have used
the same font as the masthead to keep the theme going
throughout the magazine.
6. TARGET AUDIENCE DETERMINING THE OUTCOME OF THE MAGAZINE.
Before starting to create my music magazine I looked
into my target audience in depth as It has to appeal to
them for the magazine to sell and gain profits, The target
audience determines the outcome of decisions made
during the production process. For example, At first my
double page spread had a completely different layout
which was very blocky and sophisticated but after
looking into the target audience I discovered they would
find this boring and dull and putting some colour into
the page would make my target audience want to read it,
also I changed how I wanted my model to portray the
image of the audience to a more laid back expression
rather than smart. Another thing that was determined by
the target audience was the style format of speech how
the interview was perceived and how the artist would
speak through the interview, as I had currently had a
more formal language and changed it to a more laid back
conversation.
7. Tuesd Wednes Frid Satur The biggest thing I have learnt

8. Looking back at the targets I set myself after the last
preliminary project, I think I have defiantly improved
the quality of photos I have taken, using a digital
camera rather than a phone camera makes the photos
look more professional. Also I believe that my
evaluation this time is better than the last as it has
more detail to it, and adding illustrations more
frequently. Therefore I believe I have progressed since
my last preliminary project however I now have new
targets which are,
NEW TARGETS
• Watch my timing and be more efficient
• Work out of lesson time to catch up
• Don't change plans half way through
9. Throughout this project I have learnt many new
skills using software such as Indesign and
Photoshop, I have learnt to manipulate images and
create a magazine which looks like any other music
magazine which is out there, also I have learnt to
download fonts from a website to use in a
POST-PRODUCTION
software.
When manipulating the images I changed the
background colour cut the figure out and changed
the scale of the photo, also used a spot healer to
clear the models face to make him look more like
the models used on other magazines, I have used
the rubber to remove smaller details I don't need.
Before I started this project I had never used
Photoshop or Indesign so it was all new to me
however I found it easy to get the hang of and
SKILLS
now manage to edit my own photos for other
subjects.
