Speaker: Anish Bagga, CEO, Unitu. How can the authenticity and representativity of the student voice allow Universities to shape the student experience more effectively? Traditional mechanisms of collecting student feedback are limited. They provide a single snapshot of time, there is filtering and dilution of issues passing through the system and there is difficulty in closing the feedback loop. UCL, Swansea University, University of Greenwich and others now use Unitu, an online student voice platform. Unitu, a Jisc summer of student innovation project, enables students to post and comment about issues anonymously. Student reps to escalate the feedback to the appropriate staff in their department and Departmental staff are able to engage with the feedback in real time. As a result, changes can be made to the student experience faster and more reliably based upon the authentic student voice. This presentation explores two case studies from UCL and Swansea University, outlining their journey of implementing Unitu, the student and staff (positive and negative) experiences of using Unitu, what has and hasn’t worked and the impact it has had in shaping the student experience.

Running head: INTERVENTION FOR EDUCATION Edwards 1 INTERVENTION FOR EDUCATION Edwards 6 Intervention for Education Markis’ Edwards EDU 671: Fundamentals of Educational Research Dr. Deborah Naughton January 15, 2018 Overview Mathematics is a subject that has no substitute and is compulsory in all modern schools. It teaches students to have the skills to count as well as perform both simple and technical arithmetical questions. Arithmetic is applicable in all professions thus the need for it to be compulsory in all modern schools globally (Brown, Dehoney & Millichap, 2015). Nonetheless, the main stresses associated with arithmetic is, understanding the new concepts in new topics. Many teachers are regarded as the cause of this problem as they fail to understand the concept of comprehension. Many teachers work with the assumption that if students understand the basic rules of mathematics, grasping the new technical terms and formulas can have similar results (Brown, Dehoney & Millichap, 2015). This problem is also not rectified by the regulators as they offer little to no support over the matter. It should be understood that students have different levels or varying computing powers. This means that they can easily make errors by either misreading the signs (computational error) or may misunderstand the underlying concept thus using the wrong logic. Overall, there is a common factor with this problem the inability to connect easily the theoretical features of math with reality (Brown, Dehoney & Millichap, 2015). The proposed intervention is to use digital or virtual teaching techniques to reduce these problems with the long-term aim of eliminating it. The use of computers or simulations to teach students is not new, as several schools have implemented technology in the curriculum in one mode or the other. The main advantage of this technique is that it implements the broad number of learning techniques allowing the students to familiarize themselves with one. This eliminates the limit set by teachers as they teach the course (Brown, Dehoney & Millichap, 2015). Literature Review Technology has evolved rapidly in the past decades; it has given way for more processing power, storage capacity and variation in sizes of devices. It has also evolved other sectors in the process such as education; many learning institutions have made the shift from the conventional learning techniques to digital. The main advantage of this shift is that majority of the students are familiar with the operation of these devices, therefore, the need of training is purged. Secondly and most important is that this form of education provides personalized learning, the rate of engagement is higher, students are exposed to competent teaching, assessment of learning is rapid and the quality is higher. As stated earlier, various students have various deficiencies when grasping specific mathem ...

DATA COLLECTION TOOLS Edwards 1 Data Collection Strategies Markis’ Edwards EDU 675: Change Leadership for the Differentiated Educational Environment Dr. Regina Miller February 5, 2018 Project-based learning The fact that learning is achieved through a number of ways best explains why different methods are tested in order to know the best method that can be applied. Project-based learning is thought to be a solution used to improve students’ state assessment scores when relating to the Common Core State Standards especially in comprehending non-fiction text. However, this method has to be tested in order to be recommended. Purpose of the study This study is meant to get the best data collection tool that can be used in a research. Before making any decision on what learning and teaching method to be used in teaching non-fiction texts, it is important to understand how each method works and how it can be used to improve learning. In order to be sure about how a method works, one needs to experiment or collect data that will be used as a base for making conclusions (Eodice, Geller, & Lerner, 2017). The purpose of this study is thus to provide the best data collection tool to be used in getting information that can be used in making viable conclusions. The research question is; Will the inclusion of project-based learning improve student application of comprehending non-fiction text at a high depth of knowledge level? Data collection The researcher will use a number of data collection tools in order to recommend this learning method. The data needed should be quantitative so as to give the researcher the way forward to make a decision. One of the data collection tools to be used is the pre-test and post-tests. This is a type of experiment that will use two groups; where one group is given a treatment while the other group is left to be the control group. In this sort of experiment, the researcher will collect a random number of people from the community who can be able to read and write. The people will be divided into two groups, the test group, and the control group. The conditions for the test will be set and the treatment applied to the test group. The control group will not be given treatment and after a given period of time, the researcher will collect the results. The results will measure ow the treatment affected the group as differentiated by the control group. The result from the group will be recorded exactly depending on the number of people who participated and how the experiment affected each one of them. This can enable the researcher to know whether the method can be used to improve student assessment. Another data collection tool that can be used is interviewing (Phillips & Stawarski, 2016). The researcher can organize for short and structured interviews. The interviews should have a given number of people and the result expected sh.

Intervention for Education Markis’ Edwards January 29, 2018 1 Area of Focus Enforcing IEPs children with Autism Learning and behavioral difficulties In reinforcing learners in Individualized Educational Programs(IEPs), educators will assist in shaping the behaviors of the students, as well as, becoming more self-sufficient (Bambara, Koger, & Bartholomew, 2011). The students’ educational needs are met in areas, such as reading, writing, math, adaptive living, and science. The objective is to meet the learners' needs via creating a plan that will effectively ensure the students’ educational and behavioral level are met or exceeded (Tyner, 2014). 2 Explanation of Problem Lack of reinforcement by teachers No use of different learning techniques No use of technology 3 Variables Mixed Group of children Verbally proficient but with behavioral difficulty Nonspeaking children with severe behavioral difficulty Basic speaking skills with minimal behavioral difficulty 4 Research Questions Qualitative Questions Why should I consider eLearning-based training? Can eLearning courses be customized? What is the perspective of researcher in regards to having daily awareness of students IEP goals? Quantitative Questions What are 2-3 hardware and software requirements for online training? What is the difference in researchers expectations of students when applying IEP goals daily verses being applied over three weeks? 5 Locus of Control Being part of the intervention Confidential Research for myself Research Summaries The main goal of being part of the intervention is the assurance that children are educated regardless of limitations or disabilities (Wehmeyer, 2005). 6 Intervention/Innovation The Use of iPads Use of designated applications This will all be provided by the designed application known as “Proloquo” that is designed for such activities (Brown, Dehoney, & Millichap, 2015). 7 Negotiations Observation of children in their learning environment Terms set by the DHR had to be followed 8 Ethics Student Rights Training of students on the usage of the devices Restricting the devices to specific sites When the intervention is being implemented several things have to be considered and at the top of the list is the maintenance of the students rights (Bamb.

Respond in a paragraph the discussion board. In your response, do not just agree or disagree, tell the reason for your response. Your response must be at least 100 words. Each answer separately. Use APA 7. Peer 1 Julia Hernandez Video Analysis The beginning of the video was helpful because it made me realize completing a project brings many rewards. The narrator talks about having discipline, which is essential, and that includes managing time, maintaining quality, and embracing both negative and positive changes. The experiences expressed in this first portion reveal the value of finishing a project. According to the narrator, working with like-minded people was inspiring (Sfedfundorg, 2008). Individuals that share ideas and perceptions despite their difference deliver beyond expectation. The second helpful portion was how the narrator identified her scope of research. Her approach made me realize that narrowing down individual options to a particular area improves the quality of information gathered. The third informative portion was where the narrator explains the impacts her new strategy had on her teaching. According to the narrator, her technique has made her more of an educator than a teacher (Sfedfundorg, 2008). The transformation manifests in her student’s improved academic performances and the fact that they have enough confidence while taking tests. Ideally, it helped me understand that tutors can make a difference to a student's education if they employ suitable strategies. Additionally, any utilized method affects how one teaches, sets tests, or prepares learners for examinations (Mills, 2000). The approach also helped me comprehend that the most critical aspect a teacher can give a student is confidence. If one believes in themselves and what they can accomplish, they will succeed even beyond the academic field. Data Collection One significant factor an individual should consider when collecting data via interviews includes the questions asked. Some queries might be intrusive enough to make the interviewee feel uncomfortable. At such a state, a person cannot gather relevant data or acquire the exact information. The second valuable element includes the tools used to collect data during interviews. Many options exist, including a tape recorder, notebook, or a plan book as scholars suggest (Rockford, n.d.). At times, an interviewer requires more than one recording tool to store information hence the need for considering the apparatus to use. A third consideration involves whether to interview people formally or informally. The former entails using structured questions, while the latter demands a casual conversation. Under data collections, an interviewer must consider whether to settle for digital tools like recorders and videos or traditional mechanisms like note-taking. Modern methods have proven effective because they allow the interviewer to focus on the interviewees' responses. The approaches, especially video re.

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.
