F/W 2015: Juniors Fashion Trend Report
1.
2.
3. THE INSPIRATION
This fashion trend lends itself to the free spirit of the late
60s and 70s, which gave women a voice through music.
Designers are drawing inspiration from the effortless
style of musicians from that era, such as Janis Joplin,
Stevie Nicks and Grace Slick.
Female musicians of festivals past have established
sizeable movements within the realm of women's
liberation. This movement birthed the notion of
self-expression through dress.
Today's key styles and details, such as carpet bags,
suede, and straight leg bell bottoms are derived from
global marketplaces. The impact of the Bohemian
subculture that started in San Francisco's Haight-
Ashbury neighborhood is melodically woven into
designers' collections. Fall/Winter 2015 collections
include an eclectic mix of historical artifacts from the 60s
and 70s. Other musician-inspired details include tops
and bottoms that highlight the "new hippie." This new
hippie follows the #vanlife movement, which is
composed of nomadicy, sustainability, and preservation
of music.

6. THE INSPIRATION
Fashion welcomes the idea of creating a personal, desired
look by pairing textiles that unpredictably complement each
other. Fall/Winter 2015 invites an unexpected mix of
textures, fabrics and prints. In the quest for garments that
are unique, the answer seems to be a mashup of various
fabrics from across decades.
This season's most compelling style is borrowed from men's
tailoring on Savile Row. Designers have been inspired by the
idea of repurposing items, so are offering deconstructed
silhouettes in an array of fabrics. The mixture of fabrics
creates an androgynous aesthetic, which bodes well for
women who are looking for respect in the workplace.
Layering a variety of silhouettes and fabrics together is a
particularly popular trend in the Juniors segment. The new
blend of masculine and feminine results in a modern,
wearable look. Fabric details include unusual surfaces with
yarn-like textures. Relaxed, tailored silhouettes in lightweight
fabrics including gauze and linen offer the feel of new
romanticism. Paper bag and drawstring waists are essentials,
and separates in neutral plaid checks provide a sense of that

9. THE INSPIRATION
Inspired by Native American culture, this trend focuses on
community, comfort and detail. This Fall/Winter 2015 trend is so
distinct that it is easily observed amongst wearers. The mixing
and matching of textures and prints breathes new life into a
Native American inspired ensemble.
We take this summer trend off the warm weather festival scene
and bring it into chillier months, adding lush fabrics and darker
colorways. Designers have come up with innovative styles,
fabrics and colorways to offer a crisp take on tradition. Printed
blanket ponchos made from luxe wool are sure to send you
straight into dream mode as its coziness wraps around you all
day. The warm colors call to the desert plains, appealing to that
hankering for a serene sunset. Shawl silhouettes showcase
large-scale patterns and offer a sense of warmth and repose.
Tops and miniskirts in ultra-suede cling to the body, creating that
same sense of comfort. This Fall/Winter 2015 trend welcomes
Pendleton Indian trade blankets and Navajo inspired designs
that dominate the movement, becoming essential to pulling off
the nomadic, cultured look.

12. THE INSPIRATION
Our seasonal wish is here: denim is both a trend
and a staple item for Fall/Winter 2015. This
season, we look over the past few decades for
denim-focused inspiration.
Denim work in the 70s was about clean,
streamlined design elements, with Jane Birkin
leading the way. Serge Gainsbourg was just a
hair behind her. Then, the 90s brought us much
more DIY creativity with loose, comfort-driven
shirt dresses, overalls and boyfriend jeans.
Tailored denim that is fitted and well cut is what
we are watching in Fall/Winter 2015. The fabric
focus from a transition standpoint will go from
lightweight twills to heavy, raw-constructed,
tailored denim.
