Hi!
Introducing m yself
My name is Marco Bartoli, I was born near Florence 27 years ago and since then I have
always been looking for knowledge. I have decided to study architecture as I am sure that
this is the way to change the world.
Beautiful things inspire beautiful thinks. I am really interested in developing green side of
design as I am strictly convinced that there stands the future of architecture.
I graduated in April 2012, from the University of Florence where I formed the basis of
my perseverance towards achieving an in-depth-knowledge in the field of Sustainable
Architecture. As a part of my degree course I studied various subjects relating to diverse
aspect of Sustainable Architecture which includes parametric design applied to design
process, rehabilitation and energetic requalification of old building, sustainable urban
design and wood construction techniques.
In October 2010 I joined an Erasmus exchange program and I went to the University of Por-
to (Portugal) to study architecture. During my portuguese expeience I had the opportunity
to closely interact with people of different cultures and nationality. I learned to adjust myself
with people of different ideas and method.
In July 2011 I gained a five month internship in Abruzzo where I had to re-design a small
town near L’Aquila that has been completly destroyed by the earthquake. Here I had to
collaborate with civil engineers and geotechnic engineers and most important I learned to
collaborate with local people and to be inspired by the environment.
In October 2012 I joined a four month international internship in Malàga (Spain) involved in
the development of green energies applied to design. During my trainig at Lem3a Advan-
ced Arquitecture of Andalucia I underwent the experience of developing parametric design
applied to sustainable building and public space. Here I’ve had the possibility to learn how
important is working in team, organize and be comfortable at work. Most important I’ve met
beatiful people who inspired me.
Finally, in April 2013 I moved to Edinburgh to improve my english level.
Now I’m ready to start a new experience.
