1.
2. NAME?
A magazine name is a very important aspect of creating a magazine as it is
what the audience identifiable with your magazine & it is your brand identity,
so I wanted to make sure I chose a good magazine name.
The second most
popular name. –
However with
thought, I realised it
resembled the
lifestyle magazine
‘Cosmopolitan’ too
much. Making it seem
unoriginal and
mimicked.
Since this was the
most voted name for a
magazine I decided to
go with this one out of
the two most popular.
3. FONTS.
When searching for my font I was looking for fonts which I thought stood out
in terms of resembling the pop culture.
My chosen font is
called ‘True Stories’.
4. COLOUR SCHEME.
I used Coolors.co to generate my colour scheme.
The colour scheme I’ve chosen includes bright and eye catching colours
which is perfect as its conventional for my Pop genre magazine.
6. POSSIBLE CONTENT.
• Interviews with upcoming pop artists or already well known pop artists for
a double page spread.
• Celebrity Gossip
• Latest releases of pop songs of the month./Top 10 pop songs of the
month.
• Social Media links –How to get connected.
• Competition opportunities (Prize could be free concert tickets)
• Include artists such as Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, One Direction & Taylor
Swift (Hot in the pop charts right now!)
• TV Shows? –Such as ‘The Voice UK’ which pop artist Rita Ora is a
mentor in.
7. POTENTIAL COVER
Olivia is brunette and many well-known and loved pop
artists such as Jessie J & Katy Perry are also brunettes
which makes her initial look appropriate for my pop
magazine. Also, she has a colourful and trendy dress
sense which is also suitable for a cover star attire of a pop
magazine.
As you can see from the pictures on the right, Olivia is no
stranger to being in front of the camera as she often posts
pictures of herself on social media so I'm ensured that she
will be comfortable in a photo shoot and would be able to
pose to make great photos!
