- 9. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE IRISH? Video of Irish School here Shows Irish students stating what they think it means to be Irish and demonstrating some of the traditional arts and dancing. This will be made available after permissions have been gained from students’ families
- 10. WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ENGLISH? Video of Irish School here Shows Irish students stating what they think it means to be English. This will be made available after permissions have been gained from students’ families
- 11. PHASE 2 – ENGLAND VISIT Video of English School here Shows the fist visit by Irish teachers to the English Schools. Students state what it means to be English and learn some of the Irish language and Irish dancing. The film also shows them receiving their postcards. This will be made available after permissions have been gained from students’ families

- Explanation of the project.
- Introductions to the people involved in the projects.
- Give out 5 Nations quiz for participants to complete.Icebreaker and acknowledgment that there are things that we may not know about ourselves and each other! As well as things that we share.
- Explanation of how the project progressed logistically.
- Interesting international events taking place at each step of our journey made us reflect more deeply on the nature of Citizenship and Values Education and how the outside world impacts powerfully on the Citizenship classroom.

- Explain first lesson. Hand out Ven diagram for participants to record answers to the questions above. This is the kind of task the students did. Show results from students and discuss implications. What similarities and differences do we see?

- Participants do part of the second lesson with their Ven diagrams, identifying similarities between the countries. What do you notice about the responses? About the young people’s responses?Students evaluation of the project handed out to participants for comment.

- Shows a range of things that students thought they had in common with each other. Discussions were generated from this.Future developments as a result of this visit include School Council linking.
