values can control the pressure without operations intervention and analysis
report would be generated to operators, This has been implemented at Kochi
refinery.
o Preparing Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Factory Access Test (FAT)
Documents.
o Report Package Configuration and Generation with the specified parameters
from DCS Historian. Report Package is an Integration tool that develops report
using Historian services for analysis to Operations.
• FAT and Commissioning
o Commissioning of Phillips Carbon Black Limited.
o FAT for Phillips Carbon Black Limited was executed in Schneider Electric,
Chennai.
o Commissioning and Errection of Phillips Carbon Black Limited.
o FAT for CESC BBGS was executed in Schneider Electric, Chennai.
o FAT & SAT of BPCL KOCHI refinery.

o AIM *AT – Historian.
o SOE-(Sequence of Events Software).
o DCS with TRICON using TSAA and MODBUS & UCM communication.
o Sulphur Analyzer communication through MODBUS.

1. Systems Engineer at Schneider Electric from DEC 2014 to till date.
PROJECTS HANDLED
A) PHILLIPS CARBON BLACK LIMITED MIGRATION PROJECT:
• INDIA’s first 100 series to 200 series MIGRATION was successfully completed in
limited period of shut down time.
• Designed System Definition, System Architecture, System Interconnection and Console
Drawings.
• Designed Power Distribution Layout Drawings.
• Designed System Cabinet and Marshaling Cabinet drawings.
• Designed DCS Cable Scheduling.
• Written Programming through CALCA block for 4 reactors through IACC control
blocks.
• Control strategies for the CASCADE loops through IACC.
• Designed DCS I/O Assignment.
• Designed Control Databases through IACC.
• Bulk Generation of control strategies in IACC for all the Reactors.
• Developed 20 Graphics pages for all reactors, pumps, valves.
• Upgrading & Configuring Switches.
• Configured the Report Package & Generation of Daily/Shift Reports to SAP.
• Loaded the AW and WP’s with CCS 9.1.
• Prepared the FDS hardware and software Documents.
• Prepared the SAT Procedure Document.
• Commissioned the plant which consists of 1600 I/O’s.
• Resolved all punch points after Commissioning.
C) CPCL CHENNAI:
• Attended the Yearly Shutdown Activity of CPCL DCS systems.
• Resolved the Alarm Management issue in WP’s.
• Configured the Annunciator to WP’s that is for alarm acknowledgement by the
operators.
• Resolved the SOE problem faced by the third party connection.
• Configured a Network Switch as per the old database and Replaced in an online running
plant without disturbing the Plant I/O’s.
• Resolved the FEM communication problem showing “B” Bus Failure of online plant in
just 1hour of time.
• Restored the important I/O tags from CP to database to Sync as DBSYNC.
• Reconfigured the Graphics pages with security enhancement so that the operator cannot
use all the commands without authorization.
D) CHETTINAD CEMENT POWER PLANT MERGING PROJECT:
Reshuffling and Merging of two Units into single Unit executed successfully within limited
period of shutdown time.
• Upgraded and Configured 6 Switches and tested all Network Topologies for best
switching network.
• Modified the sequence in 20 reactors according to the customer requirement.
• Graphics page development and configuration for all the new turbines and Interlock
were configured as per Unit database.
• As per customer requirement changed the BPC (Basic Process Cycle) of 3 FCP’s to
0.05ms for online plant.
• Cleared the AW hanging problem by doing On-Board Diagnostics.
• Written entire new HLBL sequence code for their new project and creation of new
graphics pages.
• Addition of new points in Historian and configuration of Trends.
• Loop checking for all the newly added I/Os and reshuffled I/Os.
• New FBM’s installed in the Running Plant.
#F) BPCL KOCHI REFINERY:
HMI Upgrade with H90 Sever model with RAID 5 configuration. Image Versions of Controller
and Field Bus Modules and A4 Switches connected along with expansion of Network by ROOT
& BACK ROOT switches. As per Network Topologies this Network at BPCL graded top most
complex network to break and can connect the MESH with a range of 10 units with
Redundancy.
• A4 Switches, Root & Back Root Switches (C4 Network Switch of Entrasys) has been
configured myself with least error specification of DB (Dead Band).
• Involved in Configuring MODBUS which is communicating with the Third Party
devices.
• Configured Pump logics through IACC along with graphics and addition of
Corresponding I/O’s in the DCS.
• Configured the Tank Farm Graphics through HMI.
• Solved the KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse)extender problem from server to remote
communication.
• Pre-checking of System Performance and Hardware Diagnoses of Workstation.
• Commissioned the TISS/BOSS, OPC and Application Workstation for new HMI
Interface between Field Instruments and HMI.
• Configured Input Tags in DCS which can return a value through IP21 communication.
• *Replaced the Internal Hard Disk of BOSS server online without the failure of server
and Plant trip.
• Historian Trends for Important Tags configured online.
• As part of BPCL Upgrade of HMI ie. Application Workstations & Workstations have
been upgraded to Win 7 which has been performed in 2 D-days with less criticality and
without shutdown of plant.
• OFFSITE software of TIS (Tank Inventory Software) has been loaded to all stations as a
part of Upgrade.
• Pumps Trip Logic has been implemented without stoppage of Pumps and added the
interlocks for the pumps online.
• 90 Gas Detectors have been added to DCS system from Triconex and Trends have been
highlighted for each Gas Detector variation.
G) CESC BBGS: 100 to 200 FBM series Migration :

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 1. Systems Engineer at Schneider Electric from DEC 2014 to till date. PROJECTS HANDLED A) PHILLIPS CARBON BLACK LIMITED MIGRATION PROJECT: • INDIA’s first 100 series to 200 series MIGRATION was successfully completed in limited period of shut down time. • Designed System Definition, System Architecture, System Interconnection and Console Drawings. • Designed Power Distribution Layout Drawings. • Designed System Cabinet and Marshaling Cabinet drawings. • Designed DCS Cable Scheduling. • Written Programming through CALCA block for 4 reactors through IACC control blocks. • Control strategies for the CASCADE loops through IACC. • Designed DCS I/O Assignment. • Designed Control Databases through IACC. • Bulk Generation of control strategies in IACC for all the Reactors. • Developed 20 Graphics pages for all reactors, pumps, valves. • Upgrading & Configuring Switches. • Configured the Report Package & Generation of Daily/Shift Reports to SAP.
  • 3. • Loaded the AW and WP’s with CCS 9.1. • Prepared the FDS hardware and software Documents. • Prepared the SAT Procedure Document. • Commissioned the plant which consists of 1600 I/O’s. • Resolved all punch points after Commissioning. C) CPCL CHENNAI: • Attended the Yearly Shutdown Activity of CPCL DCS systems. • Resolved the Alarm Management issue in WP’s. • Configured the Annunciator to WP’s that is for alarm acknowledgement by the operators. • Resolved the SOE problem faced by the third party connection. • Configured a Network Switch as per the old database and Replaced in an online running plant without disturbing the Plant I/O’s. • Resolved the FEM communication problem showing “B” Bus Failure of online plant in just 1hour of time. • Restored the important I/O tags from CP to database to Sync as DBSYNC. • Reconfigured the Graphics pages with security enhancement so that the operator cannot use all the commands without authorization. D) CHETTINAD CEMENT POWER PLANT MERGING PROJECT: Reshuffling and Merging of two Units into single Unit executed successfully within limited period of shutdown time. • Upgraded and Configured 6 Switches and tested all Network Topologies for best switching network. • Modified the sequence in 20 reactors according to the customer requirement. • Graphics page development and configuration for all the new turbines and Interlock were configured as per Unit database. • As per customer requirement changed the BPC (Basic Process Cycle) of 3 FCP’s to 0.05ms for online plant. • Cleared the AW hanging problem by doing On-Board Diagnostics. • Written entire new HLBL sequence code for their new project and creation of new graphics pages. • Addition of new points in Historian and configuration of Trends. • Loop checking for all the newly added I/Os and reshuffled I/Os. • New FBM’s installed in the Running Plant. #F) BPCL KOCHI REFINERY: HMI Upgrade with H90 Sever model with RAID 5 configuration. Image Versions of Controller and Field Bus Modules and A4 Switches connected along with expansion of Network by ROOT & BACK ROOT switches. As per Network Topologies this Network at BPCL graded top most complex network to break and can connect the MESH with a range of 10 units with Redundancy.
  • 4. • A4 Switches, Root & Back Root Switches (C4 Network Switch of Entrasys) has been configured myself with least error specification of DB (Dead Band). • Involved in Configuring MODBUS which is communicating with the Third Party devices. • Configured Pump logics through IACC along with graphics and addition of Corresponding I/O’s in the DCS. • Configured the Tank Farm Graphics through HMI. • Solved the KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse)extender problem from server to remote communication. • Pre-checking of System Performance and Hardware Diagnoses of Workstation. • Commissioned the TISS/BOSS, OPC and Application Workstation for new HMI Interface between Field Instruments and HMI. • Configured Input Tags in DCS which can return a value through IP21 communication. • *Replaced the Internal Hard Disk of BOSS server online without the failure of server and Plant trip. • Historian Trends for Important Tags configured online. • As part of BPCL Upgrade of HMI ie. Application Workstations & Workstations have been upgraded to Win 7 which has been performed in 2 D-days with less criticality and without shutdown of plant. • OFFSITE software of TIS (Tank Inventory Software) has been loaded to all stations as a part of Upgrade. • Pumps Trip Logic has been implemented without stoppage of Pumps and added the interlocks for the pumps online. • 90 Gas Detectors have been added to DCS system from Triconex and Trends have been highlighted for each Gas Detector variation.
