July 6, 2011 Bengaluru: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., a part of the US $12.5 billion Mahindra
Group, today announced the launch of the Genio DC, its premium next generation double cabin
pick up. Developed to cater to the evolved needs of the small and medium entrepreneurs
(SMEs) and businessmen alike, the Genio DC promises both efficient cargo movement and
luxurious cabin comforts for passenger travel. It is competitively priced at Rs. 5.46 lakh (ex-
showroom Karnataka, BS3 ) for the base version.
The fourth product to roll out of Mahindra’s state-of-the-art Chakan plant, the Genio DC takes
ahead the equity of the Genio brand, with a build and finish quality unseen amongst pick ups in
India. The international styling, luxurious interiors, business class comfort, class leading
convenience features and enhanced safety features of the Genio DC are one of its kind
offerings in the segment. It offers a power packed performance with its mDI CRDe 4 Cylinder
engine which is equipped with 75 HP power and 220 Nm torque, adjustable power steering,
allowing it to handle any kind of load and terrain with ease. In addition, the country’s most
advanced 4+1 seater double cabin pick up comes with a 2 din Music System and Power
Windows, thereby offering a pleasurable drive for the consumer.

Genio DC comes with a build and finish quality which is unseen on Indian roads in commercial
vehicles. The styling of the vehicle impresses on the point that it is world class in design and
looks. The unique grill design and aggressive bumper lends a complete UV look to the vehicle.

Genio DC VX the high end version truly displays comfort and convenience of business class
travel and has several features to offer the same. It has a very comfortable seating arrangement
for five passengers with the front recline able bucket seats with head rests making even the
longest drives pleasurable and fatigue free. It offers adjustable power steering and very roomy
cabin space. The 2 din music system is an ideal companion during traffic snarls and long drives
alike. The Independent front suspension helps in absorbing shocks on Indian roads. Features
like car like gear shift, ride quality of a car, wider and bigger windscreen and doors make the
drive and ride in the Genio DC a unique experience.
Class Leading Convenience Features
Genio DC VX offers several utility features enabling people to work on their business needs on
the move. It comes with an integrated floor console which has a mobile changing point, bottle
holder, cup holder and a coin holder among other features. The stylish door trim gives a feeling
of a high end MPV or SUV with a designated place for magazines and a cold drink. There are
scuff plates provided at the floor edge to give a neat look to the vehicle. Power windows,
central locking, key less entry, ‘follow me home light’ instrument cluster with RPM meter are
some of the other features which provide a complete business class like experience in the
vehicle.
It has the shortest turning radius among pickups of 6.15 meters which help negotiate any kind
of narrow lane. Measuring distance and mileage is very easy as it has an in built trip meter in
the instrument cluster.

3. Performance
Genio DC VX offers power packed performance as it comes with mDI CRDe Engine. Its 75 HP
power and 220 Nm Torque with a top speed of 120 km/hr is capable of handling any kind of
load and terrain. It also has a 1st time flat bed cargo body in double cabin pick-ups in the
country which will allow utility of the entire space in the cargo body
Technology & Safety
Genio DC VX is far ahead of its contemporaries in terms of technology and safety features.
Because of the mDI CRDe technology, the oil change interval of the vehicle is 20000 kms. It has
LSPV brakes which adjusts the braking pressure depending on the load of the vehicle. For the 1 st
time, the Genio DC is offering ELR seat belts for the safety of driver & passengers. It’s vehicle
immobiliser allows the consumer the safety of his vehicle engine not being started without the
original key, even while the car is miles away from him.
The Genio DC has a door open warning lamp, child lock and high mounting stop lamp to aid
further safety. It comes fitted with radial tubeless tyres which is an added safety highlight to
ensure that tyres does not burst in case of a puncture especially when a vehicle is on the
highway
