For Example:

clothes and empty soda cans.
Isn’t this a boring description!

Books, clothes and empty soda
cans have invaded my room.
You see the word invaded showed that the
books, clothes and empty soda cans have
taken over the room.

6. What is Simile?
Similes compare two like things using ‘as’ or
‘like’
Example: The river meandered through the
forest like a snake.

7. Effect of Simile
• A simile highlights the characteristic you wish
to emphasize.
She became as pale as a ghost
The writer emphasizes her paleness through the
comparison.
