 A graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Maral Cavner
has interned for the International Campaign for Tibet and
the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. Maral Cavner has
also had small parts in a few Hollywood hits, including The

Released in November 2013, The Hunger Games: Catching
Fire is a science fiction adventure film based on the novel
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Francis Lawrence
directed the film, which was the second installment in The
Hunger Games series.

3. Catching Fire
 The film was a critical success, even surpassing the
first movie in the series, which some critics attribute to
Francis Lawrence signing on as the new director.
Lawrence found the right balance between emotion
and excitement, according to Variety. The picture
received nominations for Critics’ Choice Movie
Awards, Empire Awards, and MTV Movie Awards in a
variety of categories, and won the People’s Choice
Award for Favorite Year End Movie.
