Tradition of the firm
1888 – Foundation of the factory Knotek a spol.
Ploughs, sowing machines, weeders, swatch turners and
raking machines.
Later on, also crushing machines.
Progressive using of own iron castings.
1891 – The assortment was extended with grain and

1899 – The number of 100 employees was exceeded

Finishing works on machined components, cast-iron moulds, pressure moulds, model equipment, dies and fixtures.
Classic machining
Milling, turning, grinding, drilling and boring operation.
Also gun drilling of super-deep holes on drilling machines.
CNC machining
Production shop is equipped with CNC machines (3x CNC milling machines 1680x810 a 1x CNC lathe
with diameter 320 mm above the turning cutter) and turntable Nikken 5AX-350 enable operating

Iron castings – Dimensional inspection
Due to the sand moulding roughness it can happen, that results from contacting dimensional
inspection made by CMM machine are not accurate. For casting dimensional inspection we use
laser scanned method. Principle of this method is comparison of real full casting surface
with 3D model. Result in this case shows us all casting surface precision, not only dimensioned
parameters.

Metal is poured centrifugally into sand lining (croning method)
Size limits:
Casting:
Up to weight of 16 kg
Machining:
Outer diameter max. 155 mm, inner diameter min. 90 mm/max. 131 mm,
maximum length 305 mm.
Metal is cast in low-frequency induction furnaces and kept in 3,2 t casting forehearth.
Casting takes place centrifugally on a 12-position casting carousel.
The machining shop is equipped with two machining lines consisting of CNC lathes
HYUNDAY HIT, SP 30 CNC and HAAS.
Honing is realized on NAGEL machines.
