2. THE AUTHORITY OF
THE WORD OF GOD
• For us these days as in time of the apostles the New
Testament is our Final authority in teachings of Faith and
ways of living.
• We know that the New Testament fulfills the Prophecies
of the Old Testament, consequently we are accepting the
whole bible as a rule to measure any teaching and
prophecies about what we should believe and how we
should conduct our lives.
3. THE BIBLE IS INFALLIBLE
• Biblical infallibility is the belief that what the Bible says
regarding matters of faith and Christian practice is
wholly useful and true.
• It is the "belief that the Bible is completely trustworthy as
a guide to salvation and the life of faith and will not fail
to accomplish its purpose.
4. OUR PROPHECIES
HAVE LIMITED AUTHORITY
• Any prophecy that is given today cannot add anything to scriptures.
• Any prophecy that we can receive has not divine authority over our lives as
scripture has.
• For that reason we can not act immediately as a result of a received
prophecy, we need to wait for a confirmation of the Holy Spirit and trust
not in our own understanding or in the encouraging words or our friends,
until the Holy Spirit confirms the received message.
• We must measure it, we must compare it with the word of God to see if
what was spoken in our life is in accordance with the bible.
5. WE DON’T SEE CLEARLY
• 1 Corinthians 13:9 (KJV)
• 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
• 1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV)
• 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in
part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
• 1 John 4:1 (KJV)
• 4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
6. GOD IS PERFECT
HIS REVELATION IS PERFECT
• Today prophecy is inspired, sustained and proclaimed through
the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
• However, it has not the same authority as the prophecies spoken
in the time of the Prophets of the Old Testament.
• Neither has the authority of the prophetic utterances and
writings of the Apostles that were called by the Lord Himself.
• Nor the authority of the prophecies spoken by those other
prophets named in the New testament Letters of the apostles.
7. • Yes, God is infallible! He is who give us the words of revelation to
speak.
• Nevertheless the gift of prophecy does not guarantee the
infallible transmission of the revelation given by God.
8. WE ARE FALLIBLE.
• The prophet may perceive the revelation in a no perfect way.
• The prophet may understand imperfectly.
• The prophet may deliver the word imperfectly.
• Is in this way that our present day prophets can err.
• 1 Corinthians 14:32 (NKJV)
• 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
9. THE BIBLE TELLS US
TO TEST ALL THINGS
• 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 (NKJV)
• 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test
all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of
evil.
10. CALLED TO
EXHORT AND COMFORT
• 1 Corinthians 14:1-3 (NKJV)
• 14 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you
may prophesy. 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak
to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the
spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks
edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
11. PAUL’S ADVICE
• Paul put it very clear:
• Even that we may do some mistakes in prophesying, he encourages
us to do it for exhorting and comforting the church.
• He calls us not to quench the Holy Spirit, but to hold to what is good
and let go what is not in accordance with the word of God.
• When he asks to test all things, he is not requesting to test the
prophet to see if he is good or evil, no; he is asking us to test the
prophecy, to see if it goes parallel with the word of God.
12. WILLINGNESS, FAITH, AUTHORITY
• When we decide to use any of God’s given gifts, God will give us opportunities to
do so.
• We will make some mistakes, we may even offend some people, but if in
humbleness we accept our mistakes, the Lord will help us to succeed in the use of
the gifts, and people will see our maturity in the gifting.
• The constant use of the gifts, will create confidence not in us but in the giver of the
gifts; as a result our faith in the giver, and His ability to use us will increase in the
same proportion that we use the gifts.
• As our faith increases the Lord will put authority in our speaking. This will be
noticed for the acceptance of your word and for the results that your word will
bring in the life of the listener.
13. LEVELS OF AUTHORITY
• ALL AUTHORITY belongs to Almighty God for He is the creator of
everything that is and exists.
• GOD’S DIRECT AUTHORITY. Is when God directly through His Word or His
Spirit tells us something as a correction, information, exhortation,
impartation or a command to do something.
• GOD’S DELEGATED AUTHORITY. It means that God will select some people
to represent Him and to exercise His authority.
• Some examples:
• Parents, teachers, governmental authorities, clergy authorities.
14. SOME AREAS THAT GOD USES
FOR DELEGATED AUTHORITY

you, and be submissive, for
they watch out for your
souls, as those who must
give account. Let them do
so with joy and not with
grief, for that would be
unprofitable for you.
Hebrews 13:17
18. BUSINESS

masters with all fear; not
only to the good and
gentle, but also to the
harsh." 1 Peter 2:18
19. HUMBLENESS, KEY OF AUTHORITY
• Romans 12:3 (NKJV)
• Serve God with Spiritual Gifts
• 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone
who is among you, not to think of himself more highly
than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has
dealt to each one a measure of faith.
20. SHARING MY VISION
• As you will remember last Wednesday while we where studying
the Gifts of God, at least three times my attention was called to
the entrance located at my right hand side as I’ve noticed
spiritual activity occurring in that door.
• As you well know, It is common that I may share with you about
angelic visitations that I sense is coming into our classroom,
heavenly beings send by God with the assignment to minister to
His holy people. Some of you have confirmed sensing that
blessed presence in our midst.
21. THE BEIGE ARMCHAIR
• Last week when this happened, I was not fully aware of what really
was going on. I knew there was this type of activity by the door and
as you could remember for two occasions I went to the Door trying
to discern what was going on.
• The second time that I was coming from the door to my table I
turned again to look at the door and then all of a sudden I could see
what was happening.
• I could see a beige color armchair being pushed into the room to be
left there by the entrance.
22. BROUGHT IT INTO THE ROOM
• I saw it, and as the vision was not consistent I didn’t comment on it
but instead I continued with the class while thinking just a bit about it.
• A couple of minutes later new activity started again at the door, I
turned again to look and this time the armchair was being moved
into the room.
• I could not see who was pushing the chair, but I knew there was
someone pushing it while many others were with expectation moving
around in front of it as if they wanted to see what would happen, or
why this chair was brought in the room.
23. YOU ARE WELCOME
• I must confess that my spiritual perception was a little bit low at that
time, I was some minutes late for class, I went straight from my
workplace and I didn’t like to accept it but I must acknowledge I was a
bit tired and hot.
• Then you will remember I was saying: “OK, welcome, come in, you
are welcome” and passed to explain about my vision of the armchair.
• Mandy cut me at some point saying that the chair was brought so
that I may sit and rest. I pondered a bit then continued with my class.
24. CHAIR OF AUTHORITY
• Finally we finished the class, we prayed and I was getting ready to go
home but first I had to go to the washroom.
• While washing my hands the word “Chair of authority” hit me.
• When coming out I briefly shared about the significance of the vision
to Philip and later on with Janet and Daniella.
• In reality that was all for the moment.
• But when I was at home in bed falling slightly sleep I was going over
the vision and revelation started to flow.
25. ITS SIGNIFICANCE
• The chair of authority is in connection with the gifts that we were studying.
• The chair in a way represents Jesus himself, we can comfortably rest in Him.
• As He is seated at the right hand side of the father so we are seated with Him in
the third heaven, in a place of authority.
• From that chair we will judge the world (I Corinthians 6:2).
• From that chair we will judge angels, (I Corinthians 6:3).
• From that same chair of authority, we can also judge matters concerning this life. (I
Corinthians 6:3)
26. ITS SIGNIFICANCE
• Not to be as the scribes and Pharisees seating in Moses seat, (Mat. 23:2)
27. I SENSED THE LORD SAYING THIS:
• “There are some of you in the classroom that are about to experience an increase
in the anointing and ability to use the gifts given to you. The holy Spirit knows
about the willingness you have to be used, He will work with you bringing you into
brokenness of heart.
• You will come to realize that it is not about your personal preparation, your
abilities your experience or the gifting you have received, but it is about the
abandoning of yourself and all that is in you and with you in the loving arms of
God Almighty.
• Once you put everything on the threshing floor he will renovate you once again,
and an inside out transformation will begin causing you to become a new person,
it will cost you some tears mainly because you will come to realize that actually
you were doing things on your own way, pride will start to crumble down
28. • The realization that you are not the one causing the manifestation of His Spirit in
you to do things will slowly sink in your spirit, then you will understand that you are
de deposit of something extraordinarily great as is His Holy Presence living in you.
The more you turn to Him the more you will loss control of your own plans and
ideas until you will become the executor of the plans of God becoming in that way
in full connection with the Spirit of God”.
• Finally the Lord says that this is a time for us to evaluate what we have been doing,
how we have approach people and that we should turn around on our attitude
towards the members of the body of Christ.
• Do not exclude those who you thing are not holy, my love for them is so intense as
the love I have for my Son Jesus and the love that I have for you, talk to them in the
way you will like Me to talk to you.
29. • And Now we’ll share about your activities in the Kingdom of God.
• Later we will pray for an increase in the manifestation of the gifts of His Holy Spirit
in our lives.
• Next week will be our last meeting of the Semester.
