JAVA Lead Developer & Architect
A well-funded London based media and technology start up founded by a team of ex Google execs is
seeking stellar Software Developers to join their rapidly growing team in London. They have the
expertise, industry knowledge and state-of-the-art technology resources available to make the vision
a reality, and need more top quality individuals to achieve their goals within ambitious timescales.
The Lead Developer & Architect will be primarily responsible for reviewing feature specifications,
designing back-end solutions and implementing these features on the platform. In addition to these
hands-on responsibilities, the Lead Developer will lead long-term architectural improvements and
lead/mentor the other members of the development team. The developer's success will be
measured on completing projects on time, quality of development and effective collaboration with
Product Management.
Our Client is currently undertaking a project to develop the core of its platform. The Lead Developer
will play a key role in the designing and building of the platform. You will bring your past experiences
(both successes and challenges) of rapidly building scalable web applications to help turn the
platform into the ultimate media technology platform.
The role is based in Central London and is a full time position.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
 Deep knowledge of Java, Spring, MySQL, Hibernate
 Understanding of software patterns like MVC, SOA
 Use of AWS cloud services, Maven (or similar), Git a strong plus
 A university graduate in a computer programming discipline with good academic
background
 5+ years’ experience in development roles.
 At least 2 years’ experience in development of an internet media product desirable
 Excellent collaboration and communication skills including the ability to discuss effectively
with both technical and non-technical teams as well as partners and use
 Experience working in an agile development team and agile development processes; Test
Driven Development and CI a strong plus
 Analytical and logical mind set
 Extraordinary problem solving skills
 Commitment to product quality and partner satisfaction
 Proactive in managing issues and keeping others informed
 Ability to work on own initiative and to be proactive on identifying problems and
solutions
