Source reduction 1 Source reduction is one part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. Source reduction is usually the most effective and economical of the mosquito control techniques available and is accomplished by eliminating mosquito breeding sites. 1 Chapter 4 “Mosquito Control through Source Reduction” (white paper); Florida Coordinating Council on Mosquito Control. 1998.
