The Women in Renewable Energy Conference will be
hosted as an official side event of the annual Nigeria
Alternative Energy Expo with a focus to developing
women in the energy sector, this event is crucial to
the empowerment and growth of women.
Renewable energy and energy efficiency projects are
creating numerous jobs and business opportunities
in the continent and women have a large role to play
in the development of sustainable projects that add
to the economic development.
The Women Renewable Energy Conference has be
designed to aid the increase in leadership and
development of women involved in the energy
space. This one day forum will provide a platform
for women to network, share their knowledge,
discuss achievements and encourage the
advancement of women across all sectors of the
energy industry.
The 1st Nigeria Clean Gas Forum will be taking
place on 21st October 2016 is aligned as an official
side event of the annual Nigeria Alternative Energy
Expo.
Africa’s oil and gas potential will grow significantly
over the next two decades, driven by population
growth, urbanization and the emergence of a
wealthier middle class on the continent. Africa is
endowed with natural resources that are changing
the global energy landscape with six of the top 10
global discoveries in the oil and gas sector in 2013
being made in Africa.
The Nigeria Clean Gas Forum has been created to
ensure a balance between opportunities as well as
common issues that affect the whole industry such as
exploration activity, licensing rounds, development
plans and the move to gas, new tax regimes, regional
infrastructure projects, pipelines, LNG terminals,
security, local content initiatives, investment
requirements etc.
The G2020 campaign will be a long-term movement,
envisaged to run for five years in this first phase. It
will be adapted over time and grow as required to
meet specific challenges and demands. G2020 will
mobilise and partner with Nigerians, Government and
Businesses to create a network through which
Nigerians can talk, encourage, and explore new
solutions for success. The call to action is for every
Nigerian to lift a finger, as this is all it takes to switch
off a light. It also requires active involvement in
generating 5000MW Green Energy as Pilots in the
country. Nigerians are being encouraged to start
thinking about their power consumption and
reminding one another that “the power is in our
finger”.
Solar empowered school is a CSI project of NAEE;
Solar empowered school identifies schools located in
rural communities around Nigeria and Africa that are
hindered by availability of lighting. We distribute solar
lanterns to students and train them on how to
improve their academic performance by reading extra
hours in the evening and how to maintain the lanterns
given to them.

Africa’s oil and gas potential will grow significantly over the next two decades, driven by population growth, urbanization and the emergence of a wealthier middle class on the continent. Africa is endowed with natural resources that are changing the global energy landscape with six of the top 10 global discoveries in the oil and gas sector in 2013 being made in Africa. The Nigeria Clean Gas Forum has been created to ensure a balance between opportunities as well as common issues that affect the whole industry such as exploration activity, licensing rounds, development plans and the move to gas, new tax regimes, regional infrastructure projects, pipelines, LNG terminals, security, local content initiatives, investment requirements etc. The G2020 campaign will be a long-term movement, envisaged to run for five years in this first phase. It will be adapted over time and grow as required to meet specific challenges and demands. G2020 will mobilise and partner with Nigerians, Government and Businesses to create a network through which Nigerians can talk, encourage, and explore new solutions for success. The call to action is for every Nigerian to lift a finger, as this is all it takes to switch off a light. It also requires active involvement in generating 5000MW Green Energy as Pilots in the country. Nigerians are being encouraged to start thinking about their power consumption and reminding one another that “the power is in our finger”. Solar empowered school is a CSI project of NAEE; Solar empowered school identifies schools located in rural communities around Nigeria and Africa that are hindered by availability of lighting. We distribute solar lanterns to students and train them on how to improve their academic performance by reading extra hours in the evening and how to maintain the lanterns given to them. www.nigeriaalternativeenergyexpo.org wrecWomen in Renewable Energy Conference tncgf
