Matt was the host of HGTV's room by room, first airing in December 1994. Room by Room was the first show to air on HGTV and is the longest running program in the Decorating Category in Television History. Matt wrote, designed and hosted over 360 episodes of Room by Room and 12 one-hour long specials for HGTV. The Special Christmas Room by Room Style is the highest rated special (Christmas 2000) in HGTV history.
