• The uniform expenditure enhanced from Rs 400 to Rs 600 per student
• Books expenditure enhanced from Rs 150/250 to Rs 250/400 per
student for primary / upper primary

students, 2,400 Atal Tinkering Labs are
sanctioned at the cost of Rs 20 lakh
each
• First Olympiad was organized of these
labs where thousands of students
presented their ideas and experiments
• 3D printing, Robotics and Artificial
intelligence is made available in these
labs

MID-DAY MEAL SCHEME
• Every day 95 million students are served
fresh cooked food at 11.4 lakh schools at
the cost of Rs 17,000 crores per year
• Union government is further strengthening
the program by granting more funds for
cooking, transport cost and also or
fortification of food
• World’s largest mid-day meal scheme in
schools is run in India

SEPARATE TOILETS
FOR GIRL STUDENTS
• Total of 4 lakh 17 thousand toilets
including 1 lakh 90 thousand girls toilets
were built within 1 year
• Special component of composite grant for
upkeep and maintenance of all toilets in
schools
• This has resulted in reducing the drop outs
of girl students and more concentration in
classrooms

• Girl students in CSWN category will get
monthly stipend of Rs 200/-
• 54,000 ramps and railings are built and
50,000 special toilets for children with
special needs are erected

to post graduate will get interactive
digital board in next 5 years
• The classrooms will become flip class
and teacher will have to interact

• The schools were inspected for overall cleanliness,

& ensuring that every student is encouraged to
become a ‘Swachhagrahi’
EK BHARAT –
SHRESTHA BHARAT
• Program started to achieve mutual understanding & brotherhood
among people of different states
• 35 States & UTs paired
• Different states get to understand the culture, festivals, food,
customs, practices, literature, languages of other State
• More than 2 lakh people and about 500 higher educational
institutions in the country have been directly and indirectly
involved
• Student exchanges and cultural exchanges between J&K and
Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand & Punjab, Gujarat & Chhattisgarh,
Maharashtra & Odisha, Goa & Jharkhand have shown the way in
this national integration initiative

LEARNING OUTCOMES • Learning Outcomes benchmark student’s capabilities to be achieved in each subject and class every year • Learning outcomes translated and teachers training completed • This will bring in accountability of schools, teachers and students, as well as parents, and will improve the quality of school education 4

  • 7. CHANGE IN NO DETENTION POLICY • States to hold examination of students in class 5 and 8 • If a student fails in second attempt, he/she can be detained • This will ensure a continued study by the students and improve their performance under NAS 7
  • 8. RATIONALIZATION OF SYLLABUS • Rote learning is not education • More time needed on value education, experiential learning, life skills education, creative skills and physical education • 37 thousand people have given their suggestions to reduce curriculum 8 www.ncert.nic.in

SAMAGRA SHIKSHA Budget increased by 20% in each year 2017 -18 -Rs 28,000 crores 2018-19 -Rs 34,000 crores 2019-20 -Rs 41,000 crores • Composite grant will increase from a band of Rs 14,000 – Rs 50,000 to band of Rs 25,000 – Rs 1,00,000 • A substantial financial support for teacher training institutes like SCERT, DIET, BRC and CRC 9
  • 10. SAMAGRA SHIKSHA Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao • 3700 KGBV hostels for rural underprivileged girls to be expanded upto 12th class • More than 6 lakh rural girls will benefit & mostly from SC, ST, OBC, Minority & other deprived sections of the society • Uninterrupted education upto 12th 10
  • 11. SAMAGRA SHIKSHA Khele India Khile India • Each school will get annual grant of Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000 for purchase of sports equipment 11 www.kheloindia.gov. in

SAMAGRA SHIKSHA Padhe Bharat – Badhe Bharat • 15.35 lakh school will be given an annual grant of Rs 5,000-Rs 20,000 for library, for primary to senior secondary • Rs 6,000 per student is granted as transport allowance where school rationalization is done • The uniform expenditure enhanced from Rs 400 to Rs 600 per student • Books expenditure enhanced from Rs 150/250 to Rs 250/400 per student for primary / upper primary 12

ATAL TINKERING LABS 13 • For building innovative skills in school students, 2,400 Atal Tinkering Labs are sanctioned at the cost of Rs 20 lakh each • First Olympiad was organized of these labs where thousands of students presented their ideas and experiments • 3D printing, Robotics and Artificial intelligence is made available in these labs www.aim.gov.in

MID-DAY MEAL SCHEME • Every day 95 million students are served fresh cooked food at 11.4 lakh schools at the cost of Rs 17,000 crores per year • Union government is further strengthening the program by granting more funds for cooking, transport cost and also or fortification of food • World’s largest mid-day meal scheme in schools is run in India 14 www.mdm.nic.in

SEPARATE TOILETS FOR GIRL STUDENTS • Total of 4 lakh 17 thousand toilets including 1 lakh 90 thousand girls toilets were built within 1 year • Special component of composite grant for upkeep and maintenance of all toilets in schools • This has resulted in reducing the drop outs of girl students and more concentration in classrooms 15
  • 16. STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS • Girl students in CSWN category will get monthly stipend of Rs 200/- • 54,000 ramps and railings are built and 50,000 special toilets for children with special needs are erected 16

DIGITAL INITIATIVES Operation Digital Board • 15 lakh classrooms from 9th standard to post graduate will get interactive digital board in next 5 years • The classrooms will become flip class and teacher will have to interact intensely with the students • This will revolutionize the teaching learning experience 17
  • 18. ePathshala • NCERT books available free in digital version • 15 lakh students have downloaded e-pathshala app • Visits in one year has crossed 30 million mark 18 www.epathshala.nic.in

  • 21. INTEGRATED B.Ed. • Like any other professional courses, 4-year integrated BA B.Ed/ B.Sc B.Ed will cater to the students who want to become teachers. This reform was debated but never implemented. Expected to start from academic session of 2019-20 • This will result in getting motivated teachers joining the system by choice and will improve the whole teaching- learning experience. 21
  • 22. SWACHH VIDYALAYA PURASKAR 22 www.swachhvidyalaya.co m • This Competition started from 2017. In the very rst year more than 2.5 lakh government schools participated online • The schools were inspected for overall cleanliness, drinking water system, toilet and classroom cleanliness • This year 6 lakh public and private schools have participated in the competition • This will go a long way in creating a Swachh culture & ensuring that every student is encouraged to become a ‘Swachhagrahi’

EK BHARAT – SHRESTHA BHARAT • Program started to achieve mutual understanding & brotherhood among people of different states • 35 States & UTs paired • Different states get to understand the culture, festivals, food, customs, practices, literature, languages of other State • More than 2 lakh people and about 500 higher educational institutions in the country have been directly and indirectly involved • Student exchanges and cultural exchanges between J&K and Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand & Punjab, Gujarat & Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra & Odisha, Goa & Jharkhand have shown the way in this national integration initiative 23 www.ekbharat.gov.in

PARIKSHA PAR CHARCHA 24 • The Programme saw a very lively exchange of questions and views and was seen or heard by almost 7 crore students and viewers, making it perhaps one of the largest viewed programmes • In a unique initiative titled ‘Pariksha Par Charcha’, the Prime Minister interacted with senior school and college students from all over the country on the subject of Examination Stress in February 2018
