The capacity for this stadium can support 91,000 people.
This project started on 24 December 2003 and opened officially on 28 June 2008.

CAUSE OF PROJECT FAILURE
The major cause for the collapse of the roof was identified to be the design fault and
inappropriate material
the project management team did not have the necessary skills and competence
to manage a project of such magnitude and complexity.
The faulty design with failure to take into account the support condition of the
roof structure.
Failed to conduct a design analysis, considering that the complex architectural
shape and large spans made the structure very sensitive to any movement in the
supporting structures.
The undesirable manner in which the structure was erected and that no checks
were done during the erection process.
