Othello is
a tragedy by William
Shakespeare.
The story’s name is
important to take
readers attention.
Othello is an tragedy,
therefore all
importance is given to
the story.
Othello is the main
character of the story.
Othello adore
Desdemona on the other
hand he doesn’t trust her.
He has some confidence
problems with
Desdemona, therefore he
acts to her doubtful and
as a stranger.
Iago to get rank, he used
their family relation and
he inculcated the
challanges to Othello’s
mind.
The author have
presented us the
characters with
dialogues.
The story is told by
first person narrator.
The most important action
took place at the end of Act
III, when Othello kneels with
Iago and swear not to change
course until he has achieved
bloody revenge.
The story is written in Elizabethan period.
The Features of the Elizabethan Period;
•Humanism
•The Reformation
•Nationalism
•An Age of Material Advancement
•New Discoveries
•Printing and Education
•Revival of Interest in Greek and Latin Literature
The story tells a time frame. It
is set in the war years between
Venice and Turkey.
The story started on a street
of Venedic with a dialogue
between Iago and Roderigo.
Othello’s villainous ensign Iago plots
against Othello and sends Roderigo to
tell senator Brabantio that Othello
has seduced Brabantio’s daughter
Desdemona.
After convincing the Senate that
he has won Desdemona’s love
fair and square, Othello is sent to
Cyprus for a military command
new bride in tow.
Iago plants a handkerchief that
Othello gave to Desdemona on
Cassio, the man who received the
promotion Iago wanted, and
convinces Othello that Cassio and
Desdemona are having an affair.
Iago convinces Roderigo to make
an attempt on Cassio’s life, and
when it only maims him, frames
the courtesan Bianca and quietly
murders Roderigo.
Mad with jealousy, Othello
smothers Desdemona. Iago’s wife
Emilia stumbles upon the murder
and exposes Iago’s plots, for
which Iago kills her and is
arrested. Othello, realizing his
grave error,kill himself.
The climax occurs at the end of
Act III when Othello kneels with
Iago and swear not to change
course until he has achieved
bloody revenge.
The falling action is where Othello
finally realizes that Iago has been
manipulating him all along to, in
the end, kill his wife.
The most important thing in
relationship is confidence.
The story can be a real.
The story set in chronologically.
The incompatibility of military
heroism and love; the danger of
isolation. Confidence is more
important than love in
relationship.
I feel close to Othello because I
have some trouble about
confidence. I can believe what I
hear.(Duhan)
I feel close to Desdemona, she has
been punished.Despite she is
innocent.(Merve)
Symbols: The handkerchief ( Red handkerchief symbolizes love)
Candle (Candle symbolizes Othello extinguishing
Desdemona’s life.)
The song “Willow”
Suprise End: Othello kills Desdemona and himself.
Irony:Throughtout the story was the treangle of Cassio, Otello and
Iago. Iago wanted Cassio died while Othello promoted Cassio to a
higher position, and later in the story also wanted to have him killed.
What the ironic is the fact that in the end both Iago and Othello end up
died while Cassio comes out on top.
Iago was the bad guy in the story.
Othello was the our hero in the story.
Othello also can be example of
dynamic character because his mind
confused and changing all the time.
Othello: The main character. A moorish
general in Venetian army is tricked by
Iago.
Desdemona: She married to Othello. She
accused of having an affair with Cassio.
Iago:Othello’s ensign in the army.He believes Othello
slept with his wife.Plots to destroy Othello.
Cassio:He has been promoted in the army by
Othello. When he was drunk, fights with Roderigo, is a
friend to Desdemona.
Emilia: Iago’s wife. Desdemona’s maid,
untentionally helps Iago in his plot.
Roderigo: He is in love with Desdemona and he
asked to marry her. And was refused. He helps Iago
in his plot against Othello.
Don’t be jealous guys.
Maybe Shakespeare has lived
something like that, or maybe
one of his friends lived this and
he decided to write a novel
about this sitution.

Because Iago said some confusing
things to Othello and he got crazy

2)Why does Iago want to destroy
Othello ?

was right ?
We think he was right
but, he become wrong
