- These are settings that affect or apply to all site users. They include user notifications. Site language. Site plugins for additional settings. Site security and site appearance
- It displays Moodle default settings added during installation and allows you to make changes to suite your preferences.
- It enables you to activate or deactivate general features like commenting, notifications, messaging, RSS Feeds, Blogs and completion tracking.
- This option enables you to set or customize the default site language. You can also use the Language packs option to import other language utilities.
- The Plugins settings allow you to view available plugins and reset them. For example the plugin overview option displays available plugins allowing you to set them. Activity modules allow you to manage different site activities like assignments, database, Quiz, chat, forum or workshop. Assignment plugins enable you to manage assignment submission and feedback. The blocks option enables you to manage blocks. Message outputs enables you to manage messages and emails. Authentication allows you to manage how users register into the system. Whether you manually register them or they register themselves online and activate accounts via email. The enrollment option enables you to set how users can enroll into the system using several available options: Self enrollment means users enroll themselves. Manual means the admin or course creator enrolls them.
- This involves site security like blocking IP addresses that are a threat to the site. Site policies assist in protecting a users privacy by blocking guessing of passwords, and forcing users to login in order to read or post information.
- It allows you to set the front page and determine how it appears. By using Front page roles, you assign a role to a user in a context, you are granting them the permissions contained in that role, for the current context and all lower contexts. For example, if a user is assigned the role of student in a course, they will also have the role of student for all activities and blocks within the course
