4. Brief history
Cultures have always been meeting and mixing
types in Malaysia since the very starting of its
history. And around more than fifteen hundred
years ago, A Malay kingdom in the Bujang Valley
did welcome the traders from India and China.
And with the arrival of silks and gold, Hinduism and
Buddhism also came into Malaysia. And around
thousands of years later, the Arab traders arrived
in the city of Malacca and brought with them the
ideologies and the practices of the religion Islam.
And by that time the Portuguese came in
Malaysia, their empire which they had
encountered was much more than the
cosmopolitan.

Thepopulation of Malaysia consists of
three main ethnic groups—Malays,
Chinese, and peoples of the South Asian
subcontinent. Malays and other
indigenous groups are known as
Bumiputras ("sons of the soil").
