3. O Que é Energia Nuclear
A energia nuclear é a energia liberada durante a
fissão ou fusão dos núcleos atômicos.
As quantidades de energia que podem ser obtidas
mediante processos nucleares superam em muitas
as que se pode obter mediante processos
químicos, que só utilizam as regiões externas do
átomo.
4. Utilização da Energia Nuclear
Servem na utilização de bombas nucleares,
Pode substituir fontes de energia e também
substituir alguns combustíveis.
A utilização da energia nuclear vem crescendo a
cada dia. A energia nuclear é uma das alternativas
menos poluentes, permite adquirir muita energia em
um espaço pequeno e instalações de usinas perto
dos centros consumidores, reduzindo o custo de
distribuição de energia.
5. Países que utilizam Energia Nuclear
Países europeus são os que mais utilizam energia
nuclear. Atualmente os Estados Unidos lideram a
produção de energia nuclear, porém os países mais
dependentes da energia nuclear são França, Suécia,
Finlândia e Bélgica. Na França, cerca de 80% de sua
eletricidade é oriunda de centrais atômicas.
6. Conseqüências da Energia Nuclear
A tecnologia nuclear é perigosa, já causou
acidentes graves como o de Three Mile Island
(EUA) e Chernobil (Ucrânia), com milhares de
mortes e enfermidades decorrentes desses
acidentes, além da perda de grandes áreas.
A utilização desse tipo de tecnologia continua
apresentando graves riscos para toda a
humanidade.
7. Energia nuclear no Brasil
A procura da tecnologia nuclear no Brasil começou na
década de 50, com Almirante Álvaro Alberto, que entre
outros feitos criou o Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa, em
1951, e que importou duas ultra-centrifugadoras da
Alemanha para o enriquecimento do urânio, em 1953.
A decisão da implementação de uma usina nuclear no
Brasil aconteceu em 1969. E que em nenhum momento
se pensou numa fonte para substituir a energia
hidráulica, da mesma maneira que também após alguns
anos, ficou bem claro que os objetivos não eram
simplesmente o domínio de uma nova tecnologia.
9. Vantagens Da Energia Nuclear
• Não contribui para o aumento do efeito estufa, pois não polui o
ar com gases.
• Para sua instalação, não requer grandes áreas.
• Não depende de condição climática.
• Praticamente não provoca impactos na biosfera – quando
provoca , é muito pouco.
• É a fonte mais concentrada de geração de energia, ofertando
grande quantidade de combustível.
• Gera pouca quantidade de resíduos radioativos.
• Não necessita de armazenamento da energia produzida em
baterias.
• Risco menor de transporte em relação a outras fontes de energia,
tipo gás, óleos para termoelétricas, etc.
10. Desvantagens Da Energia Nuclear
• Armazenamento específico para o resíduo nuclear –
bem protegido e isolado.
• Isolar a central após seu encerramento.
• Durante muitos anos, os resíduos produzidos emitirão
radiação.
• É cara comparada às outras fontes de energia.
• Riscos elevados de acidentes nucleares, podendo
inclusive, interferir nos ecossistemas.
