4. What I Learned
Be prepared for anything.
Have a set plan when you start a project, but be flexible to adjust that plan as
needed.
There is more than one way to solve a problem.
There isn’t always an exact way to solve a problem. Several people will have
different steps to get to the same solution.
Understand the bigger picture.
Know what I need as the end result of a project. Also know the steps that it will
take to complete the project. Design parts that not only do the job I need but can
also be made with more ease.

Likes
Being hands on and learning to use
tools and machines.
Getting to actually make a part
start to finish.
Working with several experienced
tool room workers.
Dislikes
Would have liked to spend some
time on CAM and write a program
for the CNC machine.
Possibly see some other some of
the other plants at Forest City
Technologies to see some of the
other projects that go on here.
Basic tool knowledge.
