Passing down of the culture.
 Shared circumstances that they had.  .
They didn’t get paid.
Didn’t have the best owners.
They lived in little shacks.
 Worked long hard hours.
Shared values that they had.
Family and friends around them.
They wanted to escape.
Communicated through values and culture.
Songs / folk-tales about the past
Biggest influence on their culture?
Brought to America on ships.
Picture of the slave ship.
Africa. Africa was also an influence on their culture.
