2. “I swear I fixed that outhouse, but it still leaks. Oh, well, it does the job,
and I'm not complaining. But someday, I'll have a proper, indoor
bathroom, with a toilet, sink and shower/tub combo. It'll take a while,
but I'll get there. And then, maybe that puddle will finally go away.”
3. “You know what I want, Hedgelet? What I really, really want? I want to
be swimming in cash! $50,000! That's how much I want to be have in
my cash account. And someday, I'll get there. I swear I will! In the
meantime, I'll just try to stay warm, dry, and not too depressed this
winter.”
4. “In weather like this, I'll stay indoors as much as possible. I have to go
out to use the outhouse, of course, and sometimes, I'll need to go to
the mailbox, or even the consignment store. That reminds me. I can
afford to send my metal ores off for smelting now. Some of them are
valuable!”
5. “NOPE! Too lonely to read. I need to find a friend now. Since it's
Sunday, probably one of the kids I know will be home, right? As long
as I don't chat with the parents, I should be fine visiting a friend's
house.”
6. “I just know the kids here will like me. See? They have a pink flamingo,
too! We're kindred spirits. Anyway, I've met Waylon before, and he
said I could visit. This will be fine.”
7. “Hello, is Waylon home? He said I could visit.”
Gator: No. Who are you?
“I'm Cally.”
Gator: Oh, you're the one he told me about. Yeah, sure, you can come
in. Nice to meet you.
8. “Wait! He told you about me? It was supposed to be a secret!
Gator: Relax. It's not like he told an adult. I know all about how you're
supposed to avoid adults. Anyway, my sister is inside. You can play
with her. I'm going to my pal's house.
“Oh, well, I guess that would be OK. As long as he didn't tell an adult
about me. But you're sworn to secrecy, kid.”
9. “Once again, I'm chatting up the little girl. I seem doomed to never have
a boyfriend. I think boys don't like me.”
Mina: Oh, you met my brothers! Yeah, they're icky, aren't they? But you
and I can have fun! Will you tell me a story? Please?
“Sure, Mina! You know, you're my first friend! I'll always tell stories for
you.”
10. “So, how are things going with you and Draco?”
Mina: Oh, he's still an icky boy, of course, but we're friends, now. He
actually thought the knock-knock joke was hilarious, once I told him I
forgot it. You were so right! Now we hang out every day at recess.
“That's great, Mina! I'm glad you're out there, making friends.”
11. Mina: What about my story, Cally?
“Oh, we have to go outside for that. This story is about a flaming ghost,
and it's so hot, it can only be told in the snow or the rain. If I told it
inside, the whole house would catch on fire!
Mina: :GASP!: Wow! Really? Awesome! Tell me out front! Yaay!
12. “And so the evil ghost-hunter melted, and the innocent flaming ghost was
extinguished at last, and could finally rest in peace in the family plot,
among all his loved ones.”
Mina: HOORAY! That ghost-hunter was so mean!
13. “Thanks for being my friend, Mina. You've really cheered me up. Now, I
have to be going. I have work to do at home. But I'll see you again
soon, if that's OK.”
Mina: Sure! Come see me, any time! I like you! And don't worry. I
haven't told anyone your secret, not even tell my brothers.
“Thank you, Mina!”
14. “I have studying to do this winter. I need to build up my photography skill,
so my photos are actually worth the cost of the film, and more. And
after I finish this book, I'm going to start on my real winter project.”
15. “Sculpting! Yes, I bought a sculpting wheel, and the clay to use with it.
I'll make all kinds of things, and sell them at the consignment shop, or
use them to furnish my own home.”
16. “My first sculpture. It's worth $45, which is not bad, considering the giant
lump of clay only cost $3. Much more profitable than photography.
Still, I invested a lot in photography, so I'll work on that, as well. I'll take
a few photos every day. And this statue I'll keep in my yard, as a
reminder of my humble beginnings.”
17. “Good morning, Hedgelet? Did you have a good sleep? Good, because
I'm putting on the stereo. I love Rock music, and I want to listen while I
sculpt the day away. There's nothing else for me to do today, except
take a few pictures, and take care of basic needs. Yay!”
19. “Oh, yes! Very nice! The table may not be worth much, but when you
have a home as small as mine, a smaller table is actually better than a
big one. I'll just shove the other table into my inventory, and replace it
with this one.”
20. “You're lovely to look at, but kind of useless. However, I can put you in
the inventory, and sell you to the consignment shop. I think I'll sculpt all
winter, and make one mass run at the end of the season, especially if it
means hiring Annalove to cart it all in her truck.”
21. “You know, it's really nice to be able to just wake up in the morning and
get right to work. I'd like to upgrade, but I actually do have everything I
need, right now. Well, except for a telephone. But I hope to fund the
house with my art work, both sculptures and photographs. And cut
gems, of course.”
22. “Oh, goody! A nectar rack! The consignment store sells nectars. I know,
because I bought a couple of them, just so I could have a holiday treat.
Now, I can put them in the rack to age properly. Hmmm, I wonder... If
there's a nectar register anywhere in town, maybe I could purchase a
nectar machine, and make my own? Or would I have to fly to France
for that? Probably the latter, which means I can't do it until Grimmy
stops the curse.”
23. “Ninety-two simoleons in bills? They're really creeping up. But my
metals came in. I'll take them to the consignment shop at the end of
the season. Time to take a few photos, while I'm up top, and then it's
back down again for more sculpting.”
24. “Well, today has not been exactly eventful, but I must say, I'm having a
blast. Now if I can just do something about this rapid drop in social
need every day! Maybe I should check the paper about adopting a cat.
Surely that would be safe enough, just like talking to Annalove or the
other shopkeepers.”
25. “I have two hours until curfew. I'll pay a quick visit to Mina. She's all the
friend I need. For now.”
26. “Oh, Waylon! Hello! So, I was lonely again, and thought I'd stop by for a
visit.”
Waylon: Cool. How's it going?
“It's going well. Say, do you mind if I take your picture? I'm trying to
learn photography skill, and need some new subjects. Maybe a few
things in your house, as well? Thanks!”
27. “Whoop! I filled my social bar and took some new shots, but it's already
just after curfew, and I have to book it, so the cops don't catch me!
Thanks, Waylon! It was fun!”
28. “Chatting up the paper girl every morning. Now why didn't I think of
that?”
29. “I took a bunch of pictures again today, but didn't level up. Still, it's
coming along. Some of the pictures are actually starting to be worth
something. I just wish it were easier to get fresh subject matter.”
30. A/N: I had fun watching her sculpt things, while listening to a rock
version of the Sims neighborhood music. No longer sweet and cutesy,
this version was heavy and rockin', making me want to dance. And
now, I also want to play The Sims, all over again. What a fun game
that was! The beginning of a franchise that stands the test of time.
31. “Clay is cheaper, but wood might be more valuable, and it only costs $25
for a chunk of wood. I'll give it a try, and see if I can make something
worth $100 or more.”
32. “It's worth $150! Should I sell it, or use it for more nectars? I think I'll sell
it.”
33. “It's Snowflake Day! Back home, Mom and Dad would put out the
decorations, and we'd have a gift-giving party, and lots of fun. I can't
do any of that this year, but maybe I can at least go to the festival, have
a photo taken, perhaps snap a few more photos of my own, and have
some fun. I deserve it. I'm taking the morning off, at least.”
34. “This is the only way to get a portrait of myself. I'm glad it's available. I
just wish my parents could see it. I'm actually doing pretty well for
myself, and I think they'd be proud.”
35. “It's strange that I can get festival tickets, just from skating around. But if
I can earn some cool free stuff, then I'm going to do it. And if I'm very
lucky, someone young will show up, so I can top up my social bar
again. The paper girl never stays long enough.”
36. “I'm starving! I haven't had breakfast, because I want to eat something
special for the holiday. What do you have?”
37. “Mmmm! Nice, hot clam chowder! Delicious! And while I'm here, I'll
have some fun, take some pictures, and socialize. Happy Snowflake
Day!”
38. “Just because I can't talk to an adult doesn't mean I can't save a man's
life. Yikes!”
39. “I'd like one Snowy the Snowbear, please. I'm going to name her
Blanche. Maybe next year, I'll have enough festival tickets to redeem
something really big.”
40. “Is there a better way to warm up than soaking in a hot tub filled with pink
bubbles? I don't think so!”
41. “Well, it was nice meeting you, fellow teenager. But now I am really tired,
and need to go home. Still, it's been a good day. I had fun, I got my
own little snowbear, and I took a lot of new photos.”
42. “But just so that I can say I did something actually productive today, I'm
hitting up the elixir store, since it's still open. I have a bunch of gems to
cut, and they might have some good elixirs to buy. Will they buy my
metals, as well as gems? I'll find out!”
43. “I'm surprised you're open today.”
Kyle: Yeah, we never really close. Anyway, what do you have for me?
Or are you here to buy?
“A bit of both, actually. I have gem hearts and metal ingots, and I'd like
some elixirs, if you have the ones I want. I'm really interested in
energy, mood, or skill boosters.”
44. Kyle: Wow. You have a lot of stuff. I'll take all those metals and gem
hearts. And is that a nectar rack? Oh, and I've been looking for a
pharaoh head sculpture. Can I take those, too?
“You sell those?”
Kyle: No, but I have a partnership with the consignment shop, so I can
sell them for you, if you'd like.
45. “I won't see the profits for a day, or two, but I'm glad I came ahead today.
Tomorrow, it's back to sculpting for me!”
46. “Some photos aren't worth the cost of the film, but I just like the subject
matter. And then there's something that really is valuable. I hung up
the deer photo, because it's pretty much the first photo where I actually
took a picture worth taking, if you know what I mean. I still have a few
others I'm saving, for when I have a real home, with a real picture wall.
That's where I'll showcase my parents, and a few friends I have made
along the way.”
47. “Vial of enlightenment? Yes, please! I think I might make a habit of
shopping at the elixir store, if they sell more potions like this!”
48. A/N: SCUBA DIVING?! Hahahahaha! OK, maybe when she's grown,
she can go back to Isla Paradiso. I never really explored that
neighborhood, or the options that came with it. I've only been scuba
diving once in this game. My game was just so glitchy and laggy that I
stopped, uninstalled, reloaded, and I haven't been back to play the
Island stuff since then.
49. “With only two days left until spring, I really need to focus on my
sculpting. I wonder if I could sculpt a bed? I mean, this thing is tall
enough, if I sculpted it standing on end, right? Or maybe a couch? But
then, I'd have to think of the shape sideways, and that gets confusing.
Probably I just just stick to smaller objects.”
50. “Invigorating potion! I want to sculpt something in ice, and I need to be
sure I don't drop out from exhaustion, during the middle of it.”
51. “I don't know quite what I'll create, but I do know I'll have to sell it right
away. No consigning this. Ah, well. It should still be profitable selling
directly to the catalog.”
52. “Golly! I just checked my cash account, and it looks like I earned
$48,000 on consignment! Those gems were great, but the METALS!
Holy horchatas! I'll earn my lifetime goal in no time!”
53. “A Freezer Bunny. How utterly appropriate. If I could save this for
posterity, I would. But it's ice, so I'll have to sell it to the catalog right
away.”
54. “But not before I take a picture. The photo is only worth around $30, but
the sculpture itself is worth over $800! Not bad, considering I spent
$100 on the ice.”
55. “Back to clay, so I can keep the stuff I make. Sure, I'll sell the stuff I don't
need, but I like making useful things, too.”
56. “Oh, wow! There's an alien at my mailbox! OK, so I know I'm supposed
to avoid adults, because they'll turn me in to the cops, but surely a
literal space alien won't. She's probably more concerned about being
turned in to the science lab, herself. I'll risk it!”
57. “I got a picture! It's a new subject, which earns me more skill points. And
then we talked about conspiracies together. She agreed not to tell on
me, and I agreed not to tell on her.”
58. “She couldn't stay long, but it sure was an exciting interlude. If I had the
science skill, I would take a sample and clone her, just to have my own
little alien sibling.”
59. “A bar stool! Now I just need a bar. I probably will have to buy that,
though.”
60. “It's actually quite comfy. Wow. I can't believe there's only one day left in
winter.”
62. “Is that it? Did I just see that correctly? My household account is over
$50,000! I got over $10,000 from the rest of my consignments! You
know what? I don't want to get a regular job. I'm doing fantastic by
myself, just collecting, creating, and selling. And once I'm free to buy
and sell like a grown-up, I'm going to buy a bigger plot of land, and
build a REAL house. This little shelter is enough until then, but why
waste money for just one more season? I'll save up until I'm an adult.”
63. “Nice! Another dining chair. I can make a whole set! I'd love to have a
house kitted out with furnishings I made myself. Oh, sure, I still have to
purchase quite a lot, but I can get the artistic value of furniture that is
also a sculpture. How about that? My dining set, alone, can give a
beautifully decorated moodlet.”
64. “It may not be cushy, but it is three times as comfy as the other chairs.
Yep. I'm gonna make a bunch of these for my new home. I can't
believe I only have one season left! I'll keep working on my sculptures,
and in the morning, I'll go back to the elixir store and see about buying
some more of those fabulous potions!”
