Task 2.3 Checklist
Undertake a study into the provision of 1 role at a national level
Key Points
  • Students are required to select one role from performer, leader
     and official and detail the development pathway from initial
     elite selection (educational establishment 1st team) to national
     representation. Will develop provisions from amateur to
     professional
  • Students are required to race and explain the elite routes for
     one of their chosen performance roles (task 1) and base this
     task on national pathways in UK
  • Pathways may include structure and function of academies, the
     training and physical developments available to the student,
     national governing body provision, and the structure of
     coaching, coaching awards, and official qualifications

Essay format 1000 words, include word count and non tolerance on
words over
To enable you to complete task 2.3 you need to ensure you provide
evidence of the following in your study:

   Comprehensive insight into the structures, pathways and
    provision from first level of elite performance to
    area/county/regional and national selection
   Rolel and function of sporting academies
   Talent Identifcation
   Role of schools/clubs/area/county associations and
    particularly NGBs and professional structures
   Funding/sponsorship
   Schemes
   Disability
   Gender
   Critical Analysis
   Extensive bibliography and appendices (and pictures!)
   Significant factual detail
   Ensure you consider the grade boundaries
   Objective rather than subjective!
   Clear Structure

Task 2.3 Checklist Undertake a study into the provision of 1 role at a national level Key Points • Students are required to select one role from performer, leader and official and detail the development pathway from initial elite selection (educational establishment 1st team) to national representation. Will develop provisions from amateur to professional • Students are required to race and explain the elite routes for one of their chosen performance roles (task 1) and base this task on national pathways in UK • Pathways may include structure and function of academies, the training and physical developments available to the student, national governing body provision, and the structure of coaching, coaching awards, and official qualifications Essay format 1000 words, include word count and non tolerance on words over To enable you to complete task 2.3 you need to ensure you provide evidence of the following in your study:  Comprehensive insight into the structures, pathways and provision from first level of elite performance to area/county/regional and national selection  Rolel and function of sporting academies  Talent Identifcation  Role of schools/clubs/area/county associations and particularly NGBs and professional structures  Funding/sponsorship  Schemes  Disability  Gender  Critical Analysis  Extensive bibliography and appendices (and pictures!)
